- Born in 1850, C. C. Filson inherited his father's pioneer spirit and love of the outdoors. After homesteading in Nebraska and roaming the country as a railroad conductor, he moved to the small city of Seattle, Washington in the 1890s.
Filson continued to make his goods from the best materials obtainable, and guaranteed every piece of merchandise. If he didn't stock an item a customer needed, he custom-made it for him. Here's how their products are made, straight from their Seattle factory floor.

Is this in Washington state??
@@petergarcia2635 are there many Asian-American 🇺🇸 in WA?
@@navy4735 shit ton
@@petergarcia2635 Are they still forcing their employees to wear masks at their own isolated work stations? What a joke..
It will be nice when the urban lumberjack movement is over and the common working class can afford quality goods.
Stop whining and get a job that pays well
@@BlackdiamondWIS I have a job that pays well. Just tired of places raising prices because some millennial in Portland who’s never done a days manual labor in his life wants to look stylish.
In 20 years there wont be a common working class. Your job will be replaced with a machine.
@@megaleadjp probably not
Not very popular at all nobody cares about filson besides the pnw.
I love Filson! A lot of people complain that they are made in Bangladesh now instead of the Usa and claim quality went down the drain, i have a lot of vintage Filson and i have a lot of new Filson and the quality did not go down! Infact i would argue the quality stayed the same or even improved and the fit improved a lot (longer sleeves than the vintage stuff especially!!). Filson is expensive AF but they still have the best designed clothing out there IMO! This is coming from a material and clothing nerd who understands every fabric/button/zipper on the market.
I have some Filson stuff. It was overpriced for what I got compared to others.
what part of Vietnam is this?? lol
What are the odds that 100% of the staff are Asian in an American company dating from 1850??
PS: I'm from Canada so I'm not sure.. But isn't there some sort of ethnic diversity employment law in the States?
They were probably using Chinese labor in 1850 being from the west coast. Not that that matters.
@@jamesturner3709 Like you said, it doesn't matter. Still, it's surprising to me...
I'm sure it's based on skill level and experience. If this ethnic staff hurts your feelings, go apply for a job there.
@@spruceandhemlock how cheaply they can be acquired 😐
As long as Bedrock Manufacturing and Paolo Corinaldesi are in charge, C.C. Filson is just a face value label. No more soul to the name.
I thought they made product in USA!!
Did Filson pay for this video?
Is this a chinese factory?
Sure looks like it
Filson making all of their factory employees wear masks during an entire shift, at their own isolated work stations, definitely gives it that communist China, sweatshop factory vibe. Sadly, it's not a Chinese factory. It's actually located in uber liberal, woke, Democrat Governor led (Jay Inslee) Washington state (USA).
hello my name cheikh ka me looking for sewing service for job
"Made in America" by people speaking Chinese.
@aknonnerd it would be nicer if it were a melting pot instead of what it is--everyone retaining their cultural identity, destroying any hope of native homogeneity.
I absolutely love my Filson bag collection! It's very sad to see the company is/was forcing their employees to wear masks at their own isolated work stations.. It literally makes them look like slaves working in a sweat shop. Do you think their executive and management staff was working in their offices with covid masks on?? Absolutely not. Disgusting.
I have more Filson, Barbour, and Pendleton Woolen Mills goods than you can shake a stick at! Cry once, buy once.
You can’t make a declarative statement like “How” and leave it up to our American minds lol 😂 I would name this “How Crazy Rich Wytz Remain” 🤣 Oh cptlizm 🧢
homie ure smoking that filson pack
S0 I've paid almost 500 bucks for a computer bag made in China ????
This factory is located in Seattle.
Yes you have! That's the exact thing I was thinking. Not so much hand made when you have a CNC-sewing machine.
Well you got your wish. It's now all moved overseas.
