As code recommended rigid diaphragm is divided as Rigid & Semi Rigid. Semi-rigid is always better as it simulates actual in-plane stiffness properties and behavior. Rigid diaphragm can be considered for regular shaped building (not like L or U), for more information you can check tutorial regarding this by csi. Anyway thanks for your effort.
Why do we have a Wx and Wy seprate wind combination done, as the wind generated in Etabs is done in 12steps which applies the wind in all directions correct. Could you please clarify on that
@StructGURU, I Appreciate your efforts. I was wondering if you can give IS 875:2015 Codal reference for Windward and Leeward coefficients used in this example.
Thank you very much .. Is there a way to make an inclined roof and apply wind load to it? Because the Way you applied the wind load will cause the wind to be completely normal to the inclined roof .. but the reality is that it would be inclined
please sir, why is mine not showing the wind depth and width for the application of the wind load using diaphragm extent? i have tried numerous times but it is still not showing and the building is not deflecting due to wind load.
Many thanks for this usefull video, but I have a question and note the question is don't you think that using (create all set) in the wind exposure parameter is taking both direction X and Y and there is no need to separate them in the load pattern. you can see ASCE 7-22 or 16 (Figure 27.3-8. Main wind force resisting system, design wind load cases.) And you will see that the four loading cases are taking X and Y separately and together. Please correct my question if I mistaken The note is can you please rise your voice the next time
Thank you for your comment. If you are applying wind load using "Diaphragms extent method" in that case you don't to define X and Y load pattern separately. If you choose the manual method (Exposure from shell objects) then you must define two load patterns in X and Y direction.

Thank you sir for sharing the information. I will definitely go through it.
@@structguru2200 Welcome dear.
Real wonderful concepts keep it up
Thanks 😄
Thanks 😄
thanks for the explanation about the use floor technique
Thanks 😄

Load pattern is only needed in one direction as ETABS automatically creates cases in both 0 degrees and 90 degrees.
Thank you very much ..

Please share your model.
@@structguru2200 How do I share the model sir?
All those who are watching this video for applying wind load according to Indian standard 12:27
Sir while assigning wind coefficients why is my arrow pointing in opposite directions?

@@structguru2200 you're absolutely right, thanls aloooot Mr. . but is there and limitations restrict us to use any of the 2 methods ?
Pls mk a video on gust factor in etabs as per IS 875 part 3 2015 with excel sheet
How to remove auto cladding? After drawing the cladding i am not able to select the slab from plan view
Uncheck "all null shell" option from "set display options". to delete the cladding, select->Properties->wall sections-> none and delete.
Hi Sir
After applying wind force on wall how to hide " Auto Mesh Options" from the model.
Uncheck it from set building view options.
Apply wind load on a building with cantilever slabs and beams......
WHEN WE SELECT FLOOR, THE STAIR LANDING ALSO SELECTED TOGETHER AND IT IS CONNECTED TO THE FLOOR VERTICALLY WHILE ASSIGNING DIAPHRAGM, IS THAT OK?
Yes, you are right. Select it and then apply diaphragm to he floors. Else, the software will give you warning while running for analysis.
sir can explain seismic load by using ASCE 7-16
