Greetings from Poland. Great to see you guys. I am a regular here. I also watch Catholic unscripted, so I get a great overview on issues. I love all of you guys and one day would like to visit you and your congregations.
Do you guys have an upload on whether you believe Catholics are saved ? I’ve noticed a lot of rc’s on Brett murphys channel and have tried to get a clear picture from him on his actual belief unsuccessfully. Is there some uploads that would clear this up somewhere?
As an American EO, I highly recommend ACNA to, as Kevin suggests, set a sunset on non-geographical dioceses. Our churches are different, as are our “thematic” dioceses. Nonetheless, allowing our non-canonical order to just go on and on and on…. Not great.
When you mentioned the Nordic Catholic Church with your report on Calvin Robinson, you mentioned the Union of Utrecht as the connection. The fact is that the Nordic Catholic Church is in the Union of Scranton, the prime member being the Polish National Catholic Church. The PNCC consecrated the Nordic Catholic Presiding Bishop, and the PNCC has made inroads into the Old Catholic world in Italy and perhaps elsewhere as they give refuge to non-Roman Catholics who've left the Union of Utrecht. Just wanted to give you a heads up on that. I used to be a priest in the PNCC, but now, inTEC, for better or worse. And, with respect to the age of retirement being raised, this is only the first reading at this GC.
I found many Christians among my students in China. I was not allowed to bring up the subject of religion, but if my students were talking about Christianity then we could. There were many Christians in China.
Cairo is disappointing for some ACNA and DoSC folks who wanted a big punch-up, sure, but its HUGELY encouraging for orthodox anglicans in the CofE who want to see renewal and restoration in the global communion. This darkness WILL pass! GSFA leading an agenda of uncompromising renewal within the global communion spells promise for the future, as we look to Cairo and GSFA as support, leadership and authority. Neat schism might look satisfying now, but history bears witness to the enduring power of faithful prayer for renewal.
Fr. George you were gentle with Gavin. I heard the mentioned podcast as a complete, but VERY British, dressing down of Fr. Calvin Robinson's claims to be a [C}atholic priest.
So i listened to the whole criticism levied out by Gavin towards Calvin. It broadly comes down to he don’t use catholic as the only proper and true faith is the Roman catholic church and everyone is a sub-church bordering on damnation. Well I guess it’s true, there is no zeal quite like that of a convert 😂. I just disagree with him entirely in part because the pope is almost sounds like Justin Welby. Quite an awkward position for the RC. Finally I do agree with one thing he said at the end, the constant schisms have to come to an end. Enough is enough.
@Coolrunnings007 - a question, not aimed at you personally, nor questioning your faith, more of a rhetorical one and an explanation of where I currently am in mine. Sorry it's a bit long. So - Where in Scripture does it say, in either Testaments, any translation, paraphrase or interpretation - no commentaries or interpretations (in 1 Peter, it says that Scripture is not to be used for private interpretation, meaning noone can just go off at a tangent because of reading something out of context, where most of the Church Politic's problems have *always* stemmed from) - does it say that any one 'Christian' Denomination is better than any other? I believe Paul addresses this in 1 Corinthians 1, over who 'follows' whom, not citing favouritism. We are meant to be ONE Body in Christ alone. But we currently are not. However, I believe Jesus is soon going to remedy this situation, and warned time and again that He will do this. G-d the Father's first impetus is the House of Israel; Jesus' is the Church Politic, and they both have the same agenda - they will challenge and sift their charges without prejudice, but justly after warning and warning us to get right with Him and each other, and get back to our First Love. The whole of the Old Testament from Exodus to Malachi is G-d the Father doing this to His wife, Israel, as described in Hosea. Then, Jesus dictates 7 letters to John to send to the then temporal Churches around Asia Minor - *note, NOT Jerusalem - which are also dispensational and prophetic, and we are in the 7th age/letter. Now it comes with a complication if one is, or not, a Dispensationalist or Replacement Theologist as to whether one believes either stances. I don't care - only that person will have to answer at the Judgment Seat for what they now believe. However, the Bible is also full of G-d the Father setting down 'lines in the sand' - choose this day whom (or what) you will serve - and too many have worshipped and still do at the altar of Denominationalism. Me? I have been in the Anglican Church since 1976, when I came to the Lord, but have never been taught, or demanded of, that Anglicanism is the *only* denomination that assures entry to Heaven. Never! But, this is my preferred *expression* of Worship, and that is a *personal* choice. I have huge issues with the hierarchy of the CofE, and worse with the RCC, but my concern is with the local fellowship I happen to be in, of which I am a Churchwarden. My Boss is the Lord *first!* Everyone else comes a poor second in this regard, but I hope I serve Christ in my fellows, and show Christ to non-believers, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Finally, we won't be able to halt the schisms in the Anglican Communion because Scripture, again, tells us this will happen in these end times. In Matthew 24, Jesus wonder if when He returns, He will find faith on the Earth. That doesn't just go for the Jews, because Jesus refers to the Church when talking to Peter and the Guys at Caperneum, Pan's Grotto, about Himself being the Rock upon which He will use Peter to build it upon. He is The Rock, not Peter! But it is WE who have cracked, not The Rock! But there will be a Faithful Remnant, and it will not be Denominational, when He comes in the Harpazo to take it out of the World, dead or alive, as He is the First Fruit and Promise of that! Serve your local fellowship in Christ and protect, challenge and love them in humility, folks! Shalom!
Very good show thank you. I subscribe to Gavin and though not in agreement with all he says thoroughly enjoy his erudite thinking. Gavin is producing more and t worries me ( I unscribed from lightweight Catholic Unscripted,)

Few things are as frustrating as talking to an ideologue who insists on splitting Christ’s church even if the issue was worth splitting over 10-15 years ago. The fact that you’re threatening splits now and not when the issue first arose points it being a pride issue rather than an actual issue. But hey that’s my 10,000 feet above read on the women’s ordination issue in acna/ gafcon
You are seeing how WO was fostered on the Episcopal Church in U.S. and then England. Some get ordained and wait around for acceptance, crying gender discrimination and backwardness if rejected. Will it be pulled off again in the ACNA and larger number of Anglicans which do not have it? We'll see.
@@royquick-s5n ok and there are theologically sound churches that have also ordained women in the global south are they also participating and going down the road of the CoE and TEC?
If I was in your parish I'd want you to stay George as you are an excellent Minister. But remember that many men undo much of the fruit of their work by staying too long. It's not how you started but how you finish that will define your Ministry. So while I don't want you to go anywhere, have in mind how you might finish, so you might finish well, on a high for the LORD.
I doubt he would join any ACNA diocese. I guess there are other options in North America, but he would need something stable on catholicity. Frankly, the whole rumor sounds farfetched.
@@royquick-s5n, that's all well and good but Robinson is a clergyman in the Old Catholic Union. He quickly went from the C of E to the Free C of E, to the Old Catholic Union in less than 2 years. Why would he switch yet again when there are other OOCU congregations in the USA.
Cairo proves that GAFCON's claim that "85% of the Anglican Communion" rejects Canterbury is bunk. If you add the liberal provinces to the Indian provinces and the pro-Canterbury Global South provinces you still have the vast majority of Anglicans. GAFCON is the minority - it's basically just Nigeria, Rwanda, the ACNA, Sydney, and a smattering of GAFCON missionary groups like Southern Cross.
So, do I understand what you are saying? That hose of us who think that the ordination of women is a heresy should just shut up and carry on, but those who think that 'gay unions' are a heresy are anathma sit? Cue Calvin Robinson.
I like it when George uses his James Earl Jones voice. Kevin, to use the phrase "to be honest" implies that you're not always honest. When should we be concerned?
Wow, Kevin, I SO disagree on geographical dioceses. I, among others, refuse to have a bishop who ordains women or enables wokeness. Geographical dioceses only would destroy greatly harm ACNA.
With all due respect, I don't understand what you mean by the new ACNA arch bishop shouldn't try to change things like women's ordination. women's ordination to the priesthood is clearly unbiblical, and we need to stand for biblical values no matter what the cost or schism might happen. Wouldn't you agree?
I don't think Fr. Calvin will accept being a bishop in the Anglican communion. I think his conscience has led him into the Catholic Church. He already uses the Ordinariate missal and is learning the Latin Mass. I think he will be the bridge of bringing Anglicans back home across the Tiber. Millions of Catholics love Fr. Calvin. He is definitely without question one of the most brilliant minds coming from England 🏴 : in the category of C.S. Lewis and St. John Henry Cardinal Newman.
We are saved by Faith AND works, we are not saved 'by works' as such but there MUST be 'works' as the Lord Jesus Christ and St Paul made clear. 'Faith ALONE' is a dangerous heresy invented by the prince of heretics, Martin Luther.
@@davidsprouse151 It is not meant to be a terse retort. It is something that I have observed.
