Thanks for this! I've got a blockage in my Nova that I just purchased off eBay. Looks like it is my fuel line that is blocked... I can't even blow air through it. Any ideas to unclog the fuel line itself?
@@jiujitsu2000 Thanks! I will give this a try. May also soak it in some gas or automotive "fuel system cleaner" to see if I can loosen up whatever crud is in there.
Brother like you I have a stove addiction and lantern addiction. 👍. If you ever have any stove you no longer need and like to sell like let me know! I also have some classic camp stoves if you’d like to review one on loan.
Another superb video, thanks. Really helps making a buying decision when you know how to maintain a stove. Could you also strip the stove down and use something like an ultrasonic cleaner on the stripped parts, or is that not a good idea?
There is a small filter on pump side pipe. The cotton like material in that small filter is totally clogged and washed out when i clean it... May i know is there anyway to purchase a filter replacement? thanks
So you can actually clean the fuel hose? This was my biggest obstacle in getting this stove, I thought you couldn’t clean the hose and only the MSR’s could have their hoses cleaned? Couldn’t you just soak the parts in Mineral Turpentine to clean them too particularly to clean out the hose? Pretty critical to long term reliability really
Quite stove says you can only use white gas and canister fuel with there little hush cap. Any truth to this or why? I wanna be able to run unleaded gas and can’t see what the quiet stove would do to prevent this or damage it? I saw in your original video of the quiet stove on the Polaris and i believe you were running unleaded has so I’m sorta confused. I ordered the polardawg and now curious if it also has this limitation.
Dirty fuels that can cause this are Gasoline/petrol or diesel. Good quality kerosene/paraffin isn't too bad, what helps keep the soot and gunk under control with the heavier fuels is pre-heating with alcohol/methylated spirit.
I know this is old and you might not see it. But how do you store the fuel pump after use? Do you leave it on the fuel bottle when camping/hiking or take it off and clean it?
Great vids! Man, its a really well used Polaris. What have you done with it? thrown it in to the ground?¨What do you call it ? Manhandeled? :-) Anyway, if the fuel line would have been the problem what then? Can that be an issue? Would you put the Polaris in comparison to the Primus Omnifuel and if so, how would it do? Regards from Sweden
Jujitsu2000 my exponent 442 has really loose legs ( the metal ones ). Is there any way to tighten them or is this how the legs were designed? I bought mine second hand from ebay.
Thx! is there any stove out there who can take all fuel brands with a silencer? my bike trip will not be easy to find gas or white fuel, mostley petrol (bensin) and disel....silencer is a must..best M
Thank you for helping me fix my burner. The burner was clogged and I was afraid to poke things in it. Works great now.
Brilliant... needed to know how it comes apart before buying, so now I know it can fit in my trangia. Perfect!
Very interesting just ordered mine thanks for the demo

You're welcome! Possibly slowly and very carefully run a small wire in and out off the fuel line.

Wouldn't a high pressure air compressor purge the system (after removing the shaker needle)..?

Please let me know if you find the name of the introduction music, it's awesome. Thanks for the tips
Can you burn propane from the 1 pound tanks safely with this stove too? 😯
thanks just the video i ask haha thanks for your help!!

I take it off and store it by itself
@@jiujitsu2000 thanks, also I found this video super helpful too. I know what to expect if I'm burning bad fuel and how to clean it.
Are you able to use bio ethanol fuel in the Polaris?
Great video Skeet. What kind of silencer do you use.
search on google this its the name: PolarDawg For Optimus Polaris Optifuel
buenti thank you.

Possibly tighten them by squeezing them with channel locks?
@@jiujitsu2000 I'll give it a try. Thanks!
Awesome
Like your videos!!!
Please clean optimus nova
What is considered dirty fuel? New to this.
Turpentine
@@jiujitsu2000 Thanks! Funny, youtube did not notify me of your reply dammit. I had to check for my self :)
Where did you get that can that you was pumping up orange does Coleman fuel burns cleaner then the other ones or gas
i think its the brs fuel bottle
is your bottle 1000ml
750ml
That is a little more complicated than cleaning the MSR Whisperlite. The MSR looks easier to clean imo.
More parts than whisperlite due to simmer ability I guess
Why not simply burn not "dirty" fuel?
Thx! is there any stove out there who can take all fuel brands with a silencer? my bike trip will not be easy to find gas or white fuel, mostley petrol (bensin) and disel....silencer is a must..best M
Primus Omnilite Ti. Primus sells their own silent cap for this stove.
👍👌🇳🇴😷
"Fuel line cleaning". 15 minute video that doesn't show how to clean the fuel line. I already know my problem isn't the stove.
You need to go back to real survival things . Mm
