- The General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed today, August 11th, World Steelpan Day.
Even before the UN's announcement, however, the steel pan has brought many visitors from around the globe, who admire and yearn to play it, to our shores.
In this See Yourself, Kimberly De Souza chats with one such visitor whose dedication led to her playing with one of the big bands on the Panorama stage.

As a Trini being born in the 60s . I wanted to play pan so bad and was always told it was a bad thing. I still want too . The pan is an amazing instrument..
