    l remember that,,, when l saw Tower Of Power they were the opening act and Santana was Headliners,,,, but yeah Tower Of Power was really good and they never did get to the top like Santana did as far as l can remember. Damn those were the days of my youth, l'm now 64 y/o and still love listening to Santana they are awesome

    Mike is a killer drummer. Can you imagine the pressure of being at Woodstock with the world watching and pulling off one of the best drum solos ever done? I would have soiled myself when I saw the crowd. He looked like it was just another day in the garage...

      What I love too is that he kicked ass on a small kit. I was a drummer growing up and I would always cringe when people would compliment someone with a massive drum kit. I would always think to myself,...my favorite drummers kicked ass with 4-5 piece kits! When you have skills you don't need a 20 piece kit! 😎

    • @BadChizzle
      @BadChizzle 3 роки тому +1

      @@BST-lm4po Correct… but drums are so much fun, it can be hard to stop adding stuff. Also… for a three piece band situation, sometimes it helps the stage look to have too many. Ha ha! All that said… I Love a Snare two toms (rack and floor) and a kick! Add Hats, crash and ride… and Bam! Bam! All you ready need… and some people just use a crash/ride and hats. Drums are so Cool!!!

    After seeing the Woodstock solo for the first of what seems like a million times this dude became one of my top handful of favorites. Greatest solo I've ever seen on any instrument. The pinnacle of the Woodstock show was his solo. Pretty freakin cool.

      I've never been a big fan of drum solos. I just didn't think drums were an instrument designed for it. (At least not long solos. I liked short solos,..like an extended fill. Like Bonham's ending to Rock & Roll, etc). But Michael Shrieve's solos were an exception to the rule. They were very entertaining!
