Understanding Speaking in Tongues | The Gifts of Tongues and Prophecy Part 1

This week Pastor Tom begins a deep dive into the gift of tongues with a series titled, The Gift of Tongues and Prophecy. This week's message is Part 1 and is titled, Understanding Speaking in Tongues. He reveals that when you're speaking in tongues you are speaking to God, 1 Corinthians 14:2 - "For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." When you are praying in the Spirit you are speaking mysteries that are unknown to you but known by the Spirit.
Pastor Tom points out that the gift of tongues is a living miracle that allows mortals to speak words powered by the Spirit for natural results. In Acts 2, God introduced the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the church. God chose for the body of Christ to be given a supernatural language in order to change us. Strong individual spiritual churches are made up of strong individual spiritual people.
