People walked out for the wrong reason. People should be walk-in go out in droves once they fully understand that Calvinism teaches what appears to be a different Jesus from the Jesus in the Bible.

I’m sure John MacArthur was either joking or lying. Nobody goes to John MacArthur’s church, especially to an early service, not knowing his stance on marriage.
My girlfriend and I were at our church a couple years ago and the sermon was about marriage and we both were like wow what are we doing and what are we going to do? So we prayed on it and went to counseling with our pastor and we repented of our sin and practiced celibacy and God blessed us and we are now happily married and closer to Jesus. God is good All the time. 🙏

This can occasionally be a challenge, due to several translations from the original languages into modern English. Then there's our own thoughts/desires/will that's another hurtle. I suggest you pray before And after reading; asking God to help you understand what He means. It's also helpful to research various words for their original meaning in context of that period. I go to his church in Sun Valley. Lots of people walk out all the time. People are so sensitive these days. But if you actually know him, he's one of the most loving compassionate guys I've ever met.

I think this is a pretty deep subject when it comes to Marriage....but what if I say Paul that was Single and never Married but wrote letters to the Corinthians Churches....Here's The thing about Marriage that most people don't want to hear but it's Something to think about....Well the answer is the Divorce rate is high, and not alot of people are not happy with each other anymore...or a Death that occurs in a Marriage...People Die to Young or old.....My Dad will tell me there's alot of stress ina Marriage....So why get Married if there's going to be alot of stress....So basically what I did, when I was looking for answers I was amazed that there were Single people in the Bible that were not Married and were Single....Paul that wrote letters to the Corinthians was Single but he was never alone because he had Jesus in his life....Then the Lord showed me that there were more Single people as well ....in the old testament Ruth Jeremiah, Anna, Martha, Joseph were Single...I think to myself that staying Single is ok, but not all will agree....But the evidence is shown here not only in the old testament but also in the new testament as well...John The Baptist, Mary Magdalene....Lazarus....Paul....and Jesus....even though Jesus was God he had a job to do and that was to heal the sick and gave site so people can see, raise the dead to life because he loves you more than anything amen....

I read The Bible in grade school and definitely went through this issue of understanding this part of The Bible a number of decades ago. I hope the people who walked out revisit it and learn what it means. It's really important not to walk out on the word of God.

My dear husband and I became one in thought and deed. I would give all I have to have him back but he’s gone on ahead and I won’t be ever be whole until I meet him again. He was meek and gentle, strong and wise, kind and loving, selfless. A wonderful man. He wasn’t always all of those things but he grew to become those things. I moved and have been looking for a new home Church and one I went to seemed to be recommended and seemed like it was doing well. They had a rather large facility and were doing 2 Sunday morning services with the place full of probably around 200 people each service. So I would be willing to guess they probably have at least about 600 or so members. I'm actually being safe and guessing low. It's probably more like 300 - 400 seating full per service. So they may have close to 1000 members. They had a live band and different members of the church were singers and that is fine. So did my original home Church and they were in the right place and on the right path. Yet, this new church had a huge band and praise and worship was quite a production. Almost like a concert. They even had a "media" type area in the middle of the back of the worship hall with 2 - 4 big full TV cameras up on a big platform and people on and around the stage getting closeup shots of the band and singers and choir. Also they had like 3 jumbotron screens. I had never seen anything like that live in a church! It was really something. Anyway I just wasn't feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit and that warmth of the love from The Lord. It just wasn't feeling like home. Well I kept telling myself that maybe I needed to get to know them. Individually they seemed to be very warm and nice people and maybe it was because the place was so large it felt spread too thin. I hadn't yet thought to myself "Wait! The Holy Spirit can't be spread too thin!!" Anyway, I had never seen a church walkout before. Well the pastor of the church decided to let a member who was an aspiring performer put on a show. He got up there and rapped and some people just started leaving. He was a black guy, but they had other members that were black get up and sing with the rest of them and everything was fine. Yes, it just didn't feel right with the way he was moving just like the secular rap performers and that it was rap in general. We well know who inspired rap, but I believe The Lord can use many things to first reach someone. Yet the more I listened to what he was actually saying it became very clear he was not glorifying The Lord. It was sort of a "Christian" based rap, but it was still managing to glorify the self! I found myself unable to stand there any longer and be subjected to it. I was already standing, but I essentially got up and walked out too! I was a bit surprised at myself, but it was something that should have been reviewed before allowing it and was obviously just not something that should have been allowed. I would still love to find a new permanent home Church locally, but it is getting really hard to find in the last 2 or 3 years. Finance wise I could even move far away and I would at this point be happy to move again to find a good true home Church. I would go back to my original home Church, but the pastor has been called home since then and they moved farther away than they were under the new pastor and I understand it has changed so much. I would love to find the most beautiful, wonderful, amazing woman I can and fall in love and start a family for The Lord, but honestly I don't even know if we have time enough left. I pray for us all. Of course what I experienced has nothing to do with John Macarthur's Church. Just the point of walking out of church and I'm sure he was making humor about the subject, but if you have a home Church that is truly leading you to be a good and faithful servant be thankful. I have personally "walked out" myself a few times over the years (needed to use the restroom, had to leave to serve in Sunday School, got an important phone call etc.) John's comments were clearly intended to be "tongue in cheek"... On the other hand, YES...it is possible that they left because they didn't like to hear the truth (sometimes it "hurts") but John has never been one to sugar coat the truth and "tickle ears". Certainly not the first (or last) time...and that's OK! Just one of many reasons why he is so loved, not just in the local congregation but by millions around the world! The desire and motive to honor the Lord by preaching ACCURATELY the entire Word of God is MacArthur's goal every time. No apologies.
Ephesians 5 was incorporated into our wedding vows. Yes our marriage is about love but marriage is more than a feeling. It’s a service and duty to one another for the sake of God. Our marriage is designed to please God not just ourselves. Ephesians is very clear about the reciprocity the husband and wife must display in order to please God. The service they must give to each other which is rooted in love and respect. Husband must love his wife and wife must respect her husband. It’s a simple cycle that keeps the marriage going.
And a healthy same-sex marriage has all of that, too, with the exception of pleasing God. Kind of strange that God wouldn’t want two people who love each other to be happy. Then again, there’s no good reason to believe God even exists, thus no reason to believe your marriage pleases God, either.
Truthfully truth. We can't back down to give the "Good News" as we knew Yeshua that we will be persecuted when we are set apart and speak out the truth that Yahweh made and designed men and women to be in one only. I go to his church in Sun Valley. Lots of people walk out all the time. People are so sensitive these days. But if you actually know him, he's one of the most loving compassionate guys I've ever met.

I think this is a pretty deep subject when it comes to Marriage....but what if I say Paul that was Single and never Married but wrote letters to the Corinthians Churches....Here's The thing about Marriage that most people don't want to hear but it's Something to think about....Well the answer is the Divorce rate is high, and not alot of people are not happy with each other anymore...or a Death that occurs in a Marriage...People Die to Young or old.....My Dad will tell me there's alot of stress ina Marriage....So why get Married if there's going to be alot of stress....So basically what I did, when I was looking for answers I was amazed that there were Single people in the Bible that were not Married and were Single....Paul that wrote letters to the Corinthians was Single but he was never alone because he had Jesus in his life....Then the Lord showed me that there were more Single people as well ....in the old testament Ruth Jeremiah, Anna, Martha, Joseph were Single...I think to myself that staying Single is ok, but not all will agree....But the evidence is shown here not only in the old testament but also in the new testament as well...John The Baptist, Mary Magdalene....Lazarus....Paul....and Jesus....even though Jesus was God he had a job to do and that was to heal the sick and gave site so people can see, raise the dead to life because he loves you more than anything amen....

I read The Bible in grade school and definitely went through this issue of understanding this part of The Bible a number of decades ago. I hope the people who walked out revisit it and learn what it means. It's really important not to walk out on the word of God.

The Lord delivered me from over 20 years living in immorality. I was groomed and sexually abused as a little kid. I stand FIRMLY AGAINST Gay Marriage and have evidence to testify as to why I stand against Gay Marriage. I also pray for other in LGBTQ Community and for their Salvation. ALL things are possible for GOD and they don't know how to change and can't without Divine intervention.

My dear husband and I became one in thought and deed. I would give all I have to have him back but he’s gone on ahead and I won’t be ever be whole until I meet him again. He was meek and gentle, strong and wise, kind and loving, selfless. A wonderful man. He wasn’t always all of those things but he grew to become those things. I once told him he had become the perfect husband. When he returned to God he took my heart and soul with him. I think that is what God wants for marriages.

Yes. That's wonderful. My husband and I have that kind of marriage. But don't be misled by tradition. If you put that very subject into its proper context, you'll see it was for a certain sect of people and time because the women jad never been allowed to go to church and had too many questions and were causing a disruption. So was it correct then also that women were not previously allowed to attend Synagogue w their husband's? Of course not. So they were told to keep silent. Do women remain silent in Churches today? Of course not. Can you imagine God wanting thos for all women? But better yet. Let's look at just a few verses that clearly state, Your men AND Women shall prophesy....or how about the verse talking about....There is no slave or free,no male or female in God's kingdom. We never hear about those just to name a few. There's more in Ezekiel. God is watching Billions die without knowing Him. Are we soooo blinded to think God would only use 1/2 of His creation? Marriage and the Church are 2 separate entities. Man is the Head of the household but CHRIST ALONE is head of His CHURCH!

I moved and have been looking for a new home Church and one I went to seemed to be recommended and seemed like it was doing well.
They had a rather large facility and were doing 2 Sunday morning services with the place full of probably around 200 people each service. So I would be willing to guess they probably have at least about 600 or so members. I'm actually being safe and guessing low. It's probably more like 300 - 400 seating full per service. So they may have close to 1000 members.
They had a live band and different members of the church were singers and that is fine. So did my original home Church and they were in the right place and on the right path. Yet, this new church had a huge band and praise and worship was quite a production. Almost like a concert. They even had a "media" type area in the middle of the back of the worship hall with 2 - 4 big full TV cameras up on a big platform and people on and around the stage getting closeup shots of the band and singers and choir. Also they had like 3 jumbotron screens. I had never seen anything like that live in a church! It was really something.
Anyway I just wasn't feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit and that warmth of the love from The Lord. It just wasn't feeling like home. Well I kept telling myself that maybe I needed to get to know them. Individually they seemed to be very warm and nice people and maybe it was because the place was so large it felt spread too thin. I hadn't yet thought to myself "Wait! The Holy Spirit can't be spread too thin!!"
Anyway, I had never seen a church walkout before. Well the pastor of the church decided to let a member who was an aspiring performer put on a show.
He got up there and rapped and some people just started leaving. He was a black guy, but they had other members that were black get up and sing with the rest of them and everything was fine. Yes, it just didn't feel right with the way he was moving just like the secular rap performers and that it was rap in general. We well know who inspired rap, but I believe The Lord can use many things to first reach someone. Yet the more I listened to what he was actually saying it became very clear he was not glorifying The Lord. It was sort of a "Christian" based rap, but it was still managing to glorify the self!
I found myself unable to stand there any longer and be subjected to it. I was already standing, but I essentially got up and walked out too!
I was a bit surprised at myself, but it was something that should have been reviewed before allowing it and was obviously just not something that should have been allowed.
I would still love to find a new permanent home Church locally, but it is getting really hard to find in the last 2 or 3 years. Finance wise I could even move far away and I would at this point be happy to move again to find a good true home Church. I would go back to my original home Church, but the pastor has been called home since then and they moved farther away than they were under the new pastor and I understand it has changed so much.
I would love to find the most beautiful, wonderful, amazing woman I can and fall in love and start a family for The Lord, but honestly I don't even know if we have time enough left.
I pray for us all.
Of course what I experienced has nothing to do with John Macarthur's Church. Just the point of walking out of church and I'm sure he was making humor about the subject, but if you have a home Church that is truly leading you to be a good and faithful servant be thankful.

"several people"?? out of several thousand? Do you know WHY they "walked out"? I have personally "walked out" myself a few times over the years (needed to use the restroom, had to leave to serve in Sunday School, got an important phone call etc.)
John's comments were clearly intended to be "tongue in cheek"...
On the other hand, YES...it is possible that they left because they didn't like to hear the truth (sometimes it "hurts") but John has never been one to sugar coat the truth and "tickle ears". Certainly not the first (or last) time...and that's OK!

Real Christians don’t persecute gay and lesbian people.
Ephesians 5 was incorporated into our wedding vows. Yes our marriage is about love but marriage is more than a feeling. It’s a service and duty to one another for the sake of God. Our marriage is designed to please God not just ourselves. Ephesians is very clear about the reciprocity the husband and wife must display in order to please God. The service they must give to each other which is rooted in love and respect. Husband must love his wife and wife must respect her husband. It’s a simple cycle that keeps the marriage going.
And a healthy same-sex marriage has all of that, too, with the exception of pleasing God. Kind of strange that God wouldn’t want two people who love each other to be happy. Then again, there’s no good reason to believe God even exists, thus no reason to believe your marriage pleases God, either.
Truthfully truth. We can't back down to give the "Good News" as we knew Yeshua that we will be persecuted when we are set apart and speak out the truth that Yahweh made and designed men and women to be in one only.
