Wow I love her playing. I found out about her playing only recently unfortunately! I've enjoyed lots of jimmy smith, johnny hammond, lonnie smith, jimmy mcgriff. its nice to see that someone is still carrying this amazing tradition on the B3...They should start making B3s again it's my favorite instrument and i'm not even a musician!
I saw Akiko in this formula at Ronnie Scott - London and when she started soloing on the organ my jaw was on the floor. You should put up more content Akiko! To this date you are THE BEST ORGAN PLAYER I HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO LISTEN TO!
Lou Donaldson loves playing with organists and he has his pick. I'm so glad he found Akiko Tsuruga on her way up! Since has become as start in her own right, leading her own groups!
I was listening to 'Radio365' on my smart phone today & they were playing 1 of your songs. I grabbed your name & when I got home went to 'youtube' & found you. Beautiful Lady & an absolutely fabulous 'organist'. Want to hear more..... All the Best to you !!!
Looks like this was in Japan - perhaps he could not travel, also missing is Danny Berger the drummer. To be fair getting two highly talented local players to step in made it interesting for the Japanese audience, I don't suppose they were too bothered.
Damn! She is killing that Hammond! She is funky and feeling that 4 sure! 5 stars!

Does anyone know why Japanese women are the masters of the Hammond 3? Check out that cat on the alto sax.

The only two people who need to be on that stage are her and her drummer.

Como suena ese B3 ,tengo uno con caja Leslie 122.
How does she do the bass line? Left hand? Pedals? She uses both, just looking at other videos.

Hi Akiko, you might get more hits if you spell 'boogaloo' correctly in the title. great playing by the way
