Barbara's playing is great. Her footwork is just incredible. She plays bass better than most bass players! I only wish she more appreciated here in the US.
Elsewhere on YT is a vid of her setup. Those rigs of her's scat, scream, moan, mumble and cry. She has this keen custom midi bass thing for the fine footwork. It has a particular "attack/decay" going on with a real bass 'image'. They're a lot of very fine players the US doesn't get to see. But in the US check out the Killer, Tony Monaco... I saw him at a B-3 blast and some of the Leslie family was there. Heaven!
I feel the same as you. I am a drummer and Charly Antolini is one of the best drummers in my mind. Not enough appreciation here at home for the European talent. I love Hammond organ and Barb is at the top of the game. I love here style.
Lets just take a moment to appreciate just how difficult this is. You are in effect playing 2 "tunes" at the same time (with you hands) and a third "tune" with your foot on an instrument you canot even see! Awesome playing :-)
I really admire organists, especially of multiple manual organs which also have an unbelievable amount of stops. I don’t play any instruments so maybe I’m wrong but these instruments seem to be very complicated in every way. On the really big pipe organs, I’m in awe of the people who master those instruments. This young lady is very talented and I enjoyed this performance.
There is nothing better than a real live B3 organ grinder, I only hope that many more talented organist will emerge in the future to keep it going!! Great Job, Barbara!!!
Anywhere, if she is ever in your usa, go see her. She is inventive and just a wonder. Long live Jimmy. And the b-3 jazz legacy is kept very alive by Barbara Dennerlein. Yes the bass lines are just to die for. I love and miss you Köln!
Way to go, Barbara! It would make sense that she placed that little speaker on top to feel the music as she is playing. It is always fun to feel the music as one plays.
Besides her playing ability the footwork is definitely worth watching also. It is always amasing to see a really good artist playing and even more so when they have the foot control working over time.
Over the years I've seem some use the pedal board and some are true artist on it. I was in Germany back in the 70's in Weisbaden. there were some clubs there that had organist in them and it was amasing to watch them. There was a young lady downtown that would play every thing from Classical to Rock and Roll. Watchig her in her mini skirt moving like she had ants in her pants when she would be playing then I saw her footwork and knew why she was bouncng around so much. I saw her off and over from 68 up unto 74 and then I came stateside. I saw her a couple of times here when she was in Austin, San Antonio and also in Houston. It was wild both hands and both feet moving to bring forth he music of the organ.
WOW!!! A female Keith Emerson :-) :-) . I'm glad I found Barbara on You-tube!! What talent, what talent, what talent!! The clip at Rockefeller Chapel brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing, Barbara!!.... Mark De Jonghe
OMG look at that left foot. I just can't keep my eyes off it. BD makes me hot under the collar in ways which I didn't think were possible. Her bass playing is the best EVER!! And the fact that she super sexy just adds a whole other dimension...what a fab musician....
It takes a special person to play a B3, you need 4 minds plus to handle the entire machine. Barb is the best!! I'm a bass player, that is all I can do, 1 thing. Barb has 7 things going at the same time and then switches switches... I'd love to see her Live!
One hand on a keyboard the other on another keyboard left foot just a rocking the base and last but not least right foot on the throttle. It's the best
To John Bethell: She's playing a Hammond Organ. There is no auto pedal keyboard... Very simple, she's that good... Along with Rhoda Scott, they are the best organists there are...
Absolutely incredible! She is thinking and playing in another dimension that doesn't even exist in my world. Michio Kaku needs to see this! (On a side note...what's with the annoying tambourine on the drummer's hi-hat?)
All the heavy weights must take a back seat to Barbara. And I mean all of them. That little foot of her's just keeps tapping away. Now that's really a walkin' bass.
... what did you find annoying with the tambourine? ... --the sound? --you're accustomed to the sound of two large cymbals coming together, --but not when augmented by the sound of many mini cymbals coming together? ... --the appearance? --tho not common, you'll see other drummers do that too [ thea.com/Tambourines-Hihat/ ]
The world needs more organ. Thanks.
The world needs more Barbara Dennerlein!
well funk dudes if this doesnt get you ?
. . . and more roller skating rinks.
Super
Yes!!
It's nice to see the bass pedals used so superbly. Many famous jazz organists didn't bother. What a superb musician!!
I wonder if her left foot twitches in her sleep?? !!!
Barbara's playing is great. Her footwork is just incredible. She plays bass better than most bass players! I only wish she more appreciated here in the US.

Jeez, I forgot the barefooted diva Rhoda Scott. Wow.
I feel the same as you. I am a drummer and Charly Antolini is one of the best drummers in my mind. Not enough appreciation here at home for the European talent. I love Hammond organ and Barb is at the top of the game. I love here style.

Ewerb7 I wish more European musicians were more appreciated in the US!

AND! modulating volume/amplitude with RIGHT foot too! unbefreakinlievable!
now appreciate the playing of classical organ players, who do the same since hundreds of years with much more difficult pieces.
@@waltertanner7982 with those hundreds of stops and voices, a thing to behold. And hear!

All she needs is a drummer and they can play concerts around the world and sound better than most combos... AMAZING!!
She has a drummer..see him?
@@Crezelltree4261 You've missed the context of the comment; what he means is that Barbara doesn't need anyone else other than a drummer to play with
Wow - she is amazing. Had no idea an organ could sound so good.
She is not playing it with her mind instead she is channelling this incredible organ sound from heavens! Hallelujah.. ☝🏻
It’s got nothing to do with supernatural nonsense, hard work and the spirit of the humanity achieves this greatness.
Yeah cool, everyone can do that, wow..
She's amazing, luv the footwork 👌
Cool !!
Men vilken artist! hon var nog kunnig i klaviaturen ock fullständig bas kontroll + inproviserng . tack Barbara Dennerlein
Quite simply amazing! This is total synchronicity with an instrument. Awesome talent.
I cannot get enough of Barbara and her Music!
She's great.that footwork is out of this world.

From the States and I appreciate you Barbara!!! Absolute FIRE

No depression possible with this music, only lifting higher and higher can go on⭐⭐⭐🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩
Boogie woogie power ;)
Outstanding footwork. Amazing! I have played on a B3000 myself but that is far beyond my capacities!
Through a Munich wormhole, Barbara came to us from another dimension. Bless her!
I think she came from Amdromeda
I have never seen anyone play the bass petals like that,it's crazy, how does one even do That? Wow!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Barbara is gifted on the organ!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💯
Fantastic musician! A true gem.
Way to go, Barbara! It would make sense that she placed that little speaker on top to feel the music as she is playing. It is always fun to feel the music as one plays.
The drummer looks very busy. She looks very relaxed and just having fun. She is that good.
WOW!!! That was incredible! Go, Girl !!!
Never heard this name. How much there is to know, good lord. That's one mean keyboard babe!
Géniale!Et avec une telle décontraction apparente. Chapeau!!
This is absolutely amazing!!!!! GO B3 GO!!!!!!

She plays nothing like the style of Keith Emerson. They are both very very very good. They have that in common.
Keith Emerson actually was a big fan of her. He especially loved her footwork.
She is great I know that now let me give credit to the drummer sometimes the drummer doesn’t get credit that drummer she has is very good
Great presentation. Love the sound of the organ :)
so cool, Barbara‘s playing gives a glimpse to another universe! 😃😊
Get Putin to Listen : NO WAR ! ! !

8 mins of pure delight that bass line incredible and her fingers my god they czn move
All the B3 heavy weights have been dropped down a peg because of Barbara.
Sheer Girl Power.

Her foot work kicks ass.

This woman is amazing!
Einfach Phantastisch ........
Amazing - Right Up There With Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff, Joey DeFrancesco, and Tony Monaco.
UNbelievable! 👏👏👏
SENSATIONAL ! THE BASS: LEFT FOOT.
One hand on a keyboard the other on another keyboard left foot just a rocking the base and last but not least right foot on the throttle. It's the best
Barbara is the BEST all over the world 🙂
Nothing less than a magician who can swing.
Simply brilliant!
To John Bethell: She's playing a Hammond Organ. There is no auto pedal keyboard... Very simple, she's that good... Along with Rhoda Scott, they are the best organists there are...
I think john made a joke, but you didn't get it... He actually paid her a compliment for playing so smooth that it sounded like auto... :)
Some special organist to play that. Brilliant !.
Fabules Hammond player --- Unbelivable footwork as well :D
HOW IS SHE NOT THE MOST FAMOUS B3 PLAYER EVER?!!!
Sexism? I dunno, just taking a wild guess.
Great stuff. Unbelievable!
Absolutely incredible! She is thinking and playing in another dimension that doesn't even exist in my world. Michio Kaku needs to see this!

I agree - not a fan of the dreaded 'tambo-bar'...
What a huge leap forward when they brought in that upright bass sound for the pedals.
That is a BD addition. She modified the bass pedals to trigger double bass samples via MIDI.
Just incredible! Cheers!
How marvelous and entertaining, hats off to this lady
¡JUST GREAT; SWING, SYNCOPATION, FEEL, BASS LINE INDEPENDENCE; ONE OF A KIND ARTIST!!!
merci de nous faire rêver ...
what a magnificent funky groove laugh out loud joy.
Best bass player by far
O.M.G. TO HAVE SUCH A TALENT. SOME ARE BORN WITH IT..... NOT ME, I HAVE TO REALLY WORK AT IT......
Shit man, most of us can really work at it all our life and not get anywhere near this good.
JIM HANSON Actually every one has to work at it. I don't think she got this good without hours and hours of hard work.
Barbara works very hard to be able to play like that. She practically lives on the bench in front of the B-3.
one of the great organ players--------Imagine if Alan Price still played the organ
Incredible Master lady organ ...😮😮😮
