Bentley! I'm a subscriber and I learn so much from your channel. Thank you for your comment :) Yes I've recently caught the rainbowfish bug, I've been buying lots of rainbows from Marcel actually
White cloud mountain minnows are highly endangered where they come from due to pollution. Awesome seeing all the success in all the different breeding.
It's amazing that the aquarium hobby is keeping the species going! I'd say we should do that for a lot of species that we are about to lose ! Thanks for your comment! ☺️
What a great tour! I enjoyed it all! Love those gold rams not to mention everything else, rainbows, guppy’s, all of it! Great fun video thanks a lot🙂👍🏻
Gotta say it's been a really great to watch your videos mate! I've been binging them all over the past few days and this fish room tour was super enjoyable and well put together. Love how open and honest you are with your journey and the love you have for all your fish is awesome!
Thank you so much, that comment really means a lot to me! I'm glad you're enjoying what I create! I'm still pretty new at this but I do my best to keep the fish I have happy and healthy. I just checked out your channel and subscribed. I love the energy you bring to your videos! Thanks again!
46:45 Cover the back gap with the round concrete foam you showed earlier (21:03 I use pipe insulation/pool noodles and zip ties so I can replace the foam due to UV deterioration). Cut a groove to fit the glass and punch a couple holes for the lines. I have had fish/etc escape from the tiniest space and this will also lower the humidity as that is probably where most of your water escapes, next to the air lines.
I have, well what I think is a good idea also, Dan. When you get new fish and you are pretty sure they were imported, ask the seller for an extra bag of water. Then when you place the new fish in isolation you don't throw the water they come in away, add the other bag of water. Then over the next four or five days slowly, AM and PM add just a small amount of your own water. Takes longer to accommodate but they need to be separate anyway. They get used to it. I would rather get locally born or at least Eastern bred fish. But sometimes that won't work. I want to buy Skiffia francesae from Dan's Fish, they would be coming from Wyoming. So that was the plan, ask for extra water.
I like that idea, It would allow the fish to adjust a lot more slowly and naturally. I guess I never thought of that! Because honestly the fish born in my water are bullet proof but I have had mixed success with imported fish
saw the black moscows on the website, so wanted to come back here to see how they were looking. look great! so many! Very sorry about the mutt guppy tub, glad they are rebounding for you though
Thanks Chad! Yeah I really enjoy that line, they're so prolific. Yeah slowly but surely the pond is coming back to life. That was a hard lesson to learn!
Good stuff Dan, I always enjoy a total fish room tour. I love the lids that you made, I don't have a tank setup like that yet but it still has inspired me to make one for my large tank. I also really appreciate your thinking on the rare fish / possible extinction issue. Hopefully that can inspire others to do the same. Keep it up! 👍
Thanks Dave! I always really appreciate your comments. I think you should totally make some lids! I've never cut glass before but it was pretty easy and cheap to do! Yes now that I'm dealing more with rainbow fish. I want to start looking at keeping endangered species and breeding them for others. I think that would really give me a sense of fulfillment. It's horrifying to imagine losing species due to natural habitats being destroyed
@@sydneysangels yeah that was my first thought, can I successfully cut glass? Lol 😂 I remember trying to do it years ago without success, maybe it's time for round two! Pray for me! Lol hey I also wanted to know if those guppies that look like the red dumbos with the yellow on their heads will be for sale any time soon? Please let me know and thanks again for the great content! Cheers!
@@louieloudog8533 oh it's easy, you got this!! Maybe I'll make a video on it! Yes I can update the website! I was planning on putting all of the new fish on at once and having a sale for anyone interested in picking some up! Aren't those really cool?
Watching this makes me think I should rotate all my aquariums sideways. It makes the depth of your aquariums look crazy cool! I’m sure it saves space too 🤔
I did it because it saves space! But yeah you could really achieve some extra depth, it looks really cool in a tank with tons of moss because it looks like it goes on for forever!
Hahaha the struggle is real! You know exactly where I'm coming from then. Baby number 2 is almost here so things are going to get even tougher for me haha
23:29 I think the shrimp I recently purchased had lowered in number, and not bred, is because of the food issue. They harp on you about perfect water conditions, which makes you not want to over feed, so you probably are actually making things worse by not feeding enough.
I know right?? That's one of the biggest reasons I wasn't successful with shrimp before. I noticed all of my shrimp in fish tanks. We're doing better than shrimp only tanks, it must have been because they were actually getting food lol
Could you do a video about your racks. I have one metal rack from Ace Hardware. I priced one at Home Depot , but it was way more than I could afford. I am terrible at building things, but Iam ready to buy 2by4s and try. I feel if I do, something awful is in the making. Somewhere there is affordable racks?
Yeah I can make a video about that! Especially since I'll be building another one soon. I think my wife surprised me with this rack from Costco so I don't remember how much it was, maybe about $250? The cinder block and 2x4 method is probably 10 times cheaper and I'll be making another one of those soon
I just subscribe to your channel, your guppies are so cute. Can you send me the info of your blue dragon indo or green and what's the best way to communicate for sales. Wonderful video.
Locally sourced quality guppies are hard to find for me too! Luckily for me a local breeder had some nice ones. I'll be putting them on the website soon 🙂
Yeah, it was pretty bad in the rainbow juvie tank. I've reset some of them since and they seem to be doing a lot better. I feed a ton of baby brine shrimp so I know that doesn't help. Thank you for pointing that out!
@@jaycarrington4727 I appreciate you letting me know. After you pointed that out I did some research on how to get rid of them, and when I checked my tanks I couldn't find any. I'll be keeping an eye out because when I went back and watched this video I definitely saw some hydra too
Hey man ! I have a rainbow fish I am unable to identify I have messaged other UA-camrs and my local pet stores and no one is able to identify it is there anyway I could email u some pictures and you could help me figure it out it is a very pretty pink/red but is 10000% not a millennium or irain

Ah Will do sir, thanks for the tip! Not going to lie, I thought they were going to be way easier than this. Perhaps I got a little too confident after making a few thousand angelfish haha. Thanks again!
Cool little look into what you have going. Keep rocking on the fish room and nice to see someone doing rainbows as well.
