    My husband had a stroke and he has frontal lobe dementia. We were high school sweethearts. We lost touch when he went to Vietnam. 50yrs later he found me on social media and we got married. We had 2 beautiful years. He is now a shell of that 6’4 war hero he was. You are lucky to have so much support. This is not the Bo he was it breaks my heart. We are soulmates and God brought him back to me. We have always loved each other since we were kids. You are a wonderful wife with younger children pray for him and just show your love. I tell Bo I love him all the time🙏

    I am glad he and she have support. I traveled alone on my husband's journey through brain cancer. I lost my mother to Alzheimer's 8 months before losing my husband, and I lost my father to Parkinson's ten years prior to that. It's been three years now and it's still very hard.

    I worked with Alzheimer’s patients for years,and (at least for me) the hardest part was when the people are first diagnosed,and the memory is just starting to go. I hope I did my best when it came to their care.

    When Emma Hemming begged the paparazzi to back off so her husband wasn't overwhelmed, it flashed me right back to the years I cared for my late husband. He couldn't handle noise or commotion either and would have agitation outbursts as a result. My heart broke for Emma. I hope she will find a way to process it all later. After my husband died, I sat down and spilled out the stories that were staying with me, a chronicle of my nine years caregiving for my husband with Alzhiemer's disease. Doing so was very cathartic. (My book's called "Enduring.") I sincerely hope Emma Bruce finds a way to continue to share her journey with others, to help open others' eyes to the mostly hidden world of dementia and to help her get feedback so she knows that she's doing a great job caring for her husband.

      It's tiring, think of what that generation doing for their kids, they took care of them, no food stamps, free phones it was all hard work and dedication, cooking, cleaning, all of it. Our time to give back to them, think of it that way, a return of love.

    She keeps talking about Bruce and his diagnosis every couple of months and then in the same breath she asks for privacy. It is sad and heartbreaking but i think she is overdoing it a bit.

    • @Susannenc
      @Susannenc 5 місяців тому +1

      There’s the disease and the man. She’s speaking about the diagnosis and impact to raise awareness about dementia. Asking for privacy for is for their personal life. She could just say or do nothing and then no one else struggling with helping a person with dementia would know. If it makes you uncomfortable, just don’t click.

    • @23angelpie
      @23angelpie 5 місяців тому +1

      I agree! Some things should be kept private. Especially since he can't really vote on what all these women are sharing about HIM. We heard you it's HARD. If we need support should that happen In our family I'm sure the Doctors will point that out. Now YOU go get some support and quit using the media as your therapist. Why do we have to raise awareness about every thing so negative. Let's focus on some good positive stories that are actually OUR business.

    • @mbogucki1
      @mbogucki1 5 місяців тому

      I believe it was Bruce who wanted the world to know about the issues he faces to raise awareness. So I think she is trying to honor that while also asking everyone to be respectful and not dig too deep.

    • @JustMe-vo9bq
      @JustMe-vo9bq 5 місяців тому

      I think her speaking about Bruce and the hardship of seeing him slip away daily, is a therapy for her. She’s so young and with young children, I’m sure she’s scared of what to expect each day. I remember my Aunt calling her son to come over during the night, because my Uncle wouldn’t stay in bed and he became very combative at times. Sadly, he had to go into a nursing home for his own safety. We don’t know what Bruce and his family are experiencing behind the scenes each day. No one should judge how someone else copes in a situation you’re not personally dealing with.

    Emma, we are in a "Club" that we did not volunteer for.. It is hard. It is unfair. It makes you sad. It makes you angry. It makes you a young caregiver. It makes you know what it really means to say in sickness and in health. It makes you a hero. ..........
    ...................it makes you a better person because you are not being selfish................i did not ask for this, neither did you, but we have doing this one day at a time because we are good women.

      It's great that he has access to 24-7 care (his net worth is a quarter of a billion so without a doubt he has this), but I don't like how she never acknowledges that others are caring for him besides herself. Having that kind of help, and never having to make a hard choice of truly struggling to care for your loved one vs putting them in a nursing home is not the reality of what most families of dementia patients deal with.

    The best thing you can do for a loved one who has dementia is to keep them active mentally and physically. Eventually when they lost their speech, they will lose the ability to walk, they wont be able to feed themselves without assistance. Eventually they'll need a feeding tube, and a ventilator as they will lose the ability to breathe. Eventually in a vegetative state, you will be faced with a tough decision to pull the plug.

      Pretty complex since plaque buildup causes eventual brain death. The only thing Elon can do is inject nano technology to clean up the plaque buildup that causes Dementia. People who take calcium supplements especially those with nasal sprays suffering from osteoporosis, have a higher chance of getting dementia. If you have osteoporosis and prescribed a calcium nasal spray, ask your doctor for an alternative.
