I love this song. takes me on a trip to the Niger desert. It reminds me a lot of the Takamba music of the Tuaregs of Niger. Great music... !!! great people...!
This album is totally killer, I bought both the mp3 and CD and realized that the latter doesn't contain the song 'Bells', I understand it was due to the time constraints, the limitations of a CD's total playing time. How did you decide which tune was gonna be 'left out' of the physical format? It would have been an impossible choice for me. Every song is great - the melodies, textures, the arrangement nuances, the 'ensemble playing' approach (instead of having individual solos on every tune , every song has its own 'character', tells a story of its own), the album is varied in its tracks yet there is an all encompassing unity, a connection between them.Congrats and cheers from Brazil - you done it again, this record is another (Post) Modern Day Classic (as is 'Invisible Cinema).
Tee Lu Rizzo thanks man! And yeah that was a really decision indeed. Went with leaving Bells off the CD in the end because losing it seemed to do the least to disrupt the album’s flow. And also there’s another version of it coming out later this year with Terri Lyne Carrington’s band “Social Science.” Thanks for listening!
@@theaaronparks Thanks for the reply, I'm a big fan of your music in general - I also really like 'Arborescence', 'Find The Way', great albums, and and you playing on Kurt Rosenwinkel's 'Star of Jupiter' is great too - you guys blend really well together. Thanks for the tip about the upcoming Terry Lynne Carrington release, I'm gonna check it out. Keep it up, all the best, peace!
anyway, the whole album is a trip...! many thanks... and congrats to all the band... !
