What band/artist should be next? 🎸🎧
Lie Likes Music understanding Thom Yorke would make an excellent video.
Corey Taylor
Lie Likes Music
How about Queen?
Understanding Will Toledo/Car Seat Headrest, Thom Yorke, or Sufjan Stevens would make a great video
Deftones
Rumor has it Grohl can play the guitar with drumsticks
Only when he's had a freshly brewed pot.
and play drum with a pick
Love your profile picture mate
Theres another rumor that he can do anything.
I dont know about Grohl but Hetfield can for sure!
Here's a philosophy. If you play an instrument and you're getting annoyed or tired of it, just remember this: you are making an inanimate object sing...
Nice one 👌
Or in the case of drums...
Scream out in anguish.
@@unwillingconduit7108 that would be recorder.
drums are caveman war chants

Madonna: *coughs* cancels next 43 years of shows.
Dave Grohl: I think I just broke my leg. Sorry bout that. What song was were we playing next?
@Corby Dorian how?
@Corby Dorian Madonna canceled a full schedule years ago because she had a slight cough, dipshit
@Corby Dorian just stop
@Corby Dorian shutup stupid

Dave Grohl is such a good guy, and very talented.
That's very accurate!
Jumalauta Kurtti muruhattii
hi
he also kind of likes coffee
He is so nice. Even when, paparazzi and pro signature. Surrounded him begging him to sign somthing. He kept being calm, said "I m sorry I dont sign anything unless it charity
But they kept asking him. He just said ok one minute ,then he ran to his car
You forgot he has an amazing sense of humor
I thought people got that idea through the footage i showed.
Lie Likes Music Yeah I know, great video I really enjoyed it, good luck with your channel!
RandomGuy I love Dave's sense of humor, it just makes him more loveable!
Foo Fighters aren't my absolute favorite band, but I feel like Dave is like the Ambassador of Rock at this point. He's like the public face and best representative of it. Deservedly so.
Great series, btw. Just discovered it 2 days after APC's new record.
New subscriber.
Nah they're not my favorite either. And i def agree on him being sort of an ambassador for the genre.
He certainly has the leadership skills for it. And thanks for the support :) Do you have any requests for
what artist or band i should talk about next?
Lie Likes Music I love Tom Waits and saw a few requests for him on the APC video. I think he has a pretty interesting story as well. Love to hear your take on it. Thanks so much. Keep up the great work!
Ozzy Osborne..? Is....... is.. that you!?
Yes, he’s a business man. He rubs me the wrong way. He’s so emotionally contained and not vulnerable AT ALL. Probably why Kurt was annoyed with him.
Dave is the reason why I play music. Love him so much.
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to watch :)
Dave Grohl is an inspiration honestly. Not one musician has inspired me more to just write my own music. I’m self taught on bass, guitar, and piano (took drum lessons for like 6 years) if I ever get the chance to meet Dave Grohl I could die in the next 5 minutes after, and be totally fine with it. Dave is a fuckin’ legend.
Haha those are the words of a hardcore fan! I really wanna meet him in person too some day.
Let's plan this shit. WHat's your favorite Foos record btw?
Understanding buckethead. I think this absolutely needs to be done, people need to know his story. It's truly inspiring
Tazzwar Azam _Ehhhh..._

The Swinging Door W A S S U P ¿
I’m going to see Buckethead this month!
most other musicians struggle with addictions to cocaine, heroin, speed, etc. meanwhile we have Dave Grohl who is an energetic ball of energy from all the fresh pots he drinks down
Hahaha. he couldn't be addicted to anything else xD
It's been fun to watch him grow up. Being a family man with a beautiful wife and 3 gorgeous girls looks good on him. He is a prolific creator and after 25 yrs of success and 300+ million dollars, he's still having fun. Love him and all the FF. Thanks for many years of rock 'n fun!
I love how Dave Grohl has played with so many bands. I made a joke to my brother about forming a band and needing a drummer. I said we could get Dave Grohl to do it. He seems so down to earth and I’d love to meet him. I have met Billie Joe from Green Day and he was a super nice guy.

Understanding Billie Joe Armstrong?
melynx What simple but great? I love Green Day and Nirvana
Sometimes you look around, realize your convictions aren’t putting food in your kids’ mouths. Capitalize on your connections in the industry & a decade on MTV and write an album about how the leader of our nation is an imbecile with suburban masses in mind just as said leader’s approval rating is bottoming out according to the vox populi, so that the lyrical themes seem revolutionary even though they’re just common sense. Rinse, repeat.
I say “Rinse. Reoeat.” even though a spiritual follow-up has not yet arrived. Which is odd considered they released an album called ‘Father of All Motherfuckers’.
Them Crooked Vultures not only created some of the greatest rock songs of the modern era… But of all time! Banger after banger on that album.
YES that's so true. I was so lucky to hear that album when i first started getting into rock music.
I hope they make a comeback soon and make magic together again.
Man, the production values on you musician series is incredible.
Props.
Thanks! I think i can make them even better somehow though. So i'll try my best to do that.
Its TONY Iommi, not Tommy......
Tony's brother.
Tony is an only child.....nice try
Loosen the bone Wilma.
....said no one ever
Yep. Lost credibility with me
That's interesting how Dave looks at the guitar. I have been playing guitar for years, it's my main instrument. I've never learned things conventionally, still don't know all my standard chords. I've approached the guitar much in the way Dave does, following patterns and shapes, feeling out a groove rather than rely first on theory to compose. While I know I could further my reach as a musician, 90% of what I play will always be played haphazardly, experimentally. If you're anything like me, don't ever let anyone tell you how to learn something you love, and if you find rudiments and structure help your playing, don't stress it. Music is supposed to be fun.
Hah that reminds me of myself. I was never big on learning chords and theory when i first started out.
I'm in on the idea that music should be fun, but if i had the choice to learn the guitar again with what i know
now, i would love to go down a more strategic path. Learn from guitarists that are way better than me and
know a lot of theory. There's still room for love and experimentiation despite of learning that stuff.
I'm learning drums now, and with my experience with the guitar, I'm more open to learning all the basics and techniques and improvise and experiment as I go, rather than wing it for 20 years lol... Still, sometimes you just want to bang out a tune and not give a damn.
Oh, and request for who to cover next: Battles
Can you do Layne Staley/ Alice In Chains? Maybe Chris Cornell/ Soundgarden?
"Tommy" Iommi?
It's Tony, man. Tony.
Its better than timmy
Tommy Iommi from Deep Purple has got to be my favorite organist, just check out his playing on songs like Enter Sandman or Yellow Submarine (both from their highly praised album Nevermind) any you’ll see what I’m talking about. ;)
Recommending everyone to watch the documentary "Back and Forth" great stuff and alot of info.
Toasters couldn't agree more
As well as sound city. Both are great.
It's on Netflix, check it out everyone!
Just go ahead and binge all their docs some time in one sitting.
Love that documentary!
I love Dave Grohls music,he got me into music and is one of my inspirations to play Guitar.
Same here as well. Or at least one of my inspirations among Josh Homme, Matthew Bellamy
Omar Rodrigues-Lopez etc.
At 10:00 He says John Paul Jones from Led Zepplin, but then John Bonham's symbol appeared on screen
THERE WE GO! and like always a great video man!
No problem man. This is what i promised you 😄 Thanks for staying tuned.
Dave is one of those that people look up to if they know him at all. He's just a straight and solid musician who likes what he is doing. You may be interested in doing a video on another guy with the same level of ethics... Joe Satriani. He might just be one of the most brilliant musicians of our time
He is... maybe not a genious but def very talented. What a fantastic journey and it seems like he just doesn't stop to look back.
Nah he loves music and life too much to look back. Thanks for watching and sharing 😊
Dave is an incredibly talented and kind man. After hearing the first cd, I was a fan! I grew up in the 70s so I did grow up listening to amazing music. The Foo Fighters were the first rock band, since the 70s, where I loved every song on every album. That's rare these days. The only other 90s album I love every song on is Dulcinia from Toad The Wet Sprocket.
Understanding Eddie Vedder please??

Also subbed long live punk rock
This was very well made. Great job on this documentary.
Thanks! I tried my best.
Integrating the videos that help to show your point is very cool and a great idea man.
You mean in terms of connecting this one to the Kurt Cobain video i did?
Lie Likes Music I meant in terms of within in this video, adding the short videos of him, like for instance talking about the chair, that added to the video in a good way man, very good stuff.
such a great and beautiful channel. Love the insight!
👍😉 No problem Noah. Thanks for taking the time to watch and write.
Your channel is going to BLOW UP! FANTASTIC!

Alex Chilton, Big Star, The Replacements, Kraftwerk, The Cure, Jeff Beck, Robert Johnson, Daft Punk, Sounds of. . . Great research. Please keep them coming.
Great stuff as always, Dave is very versatile. Please bring back Them Crooked vultures
I wanna make an Understanding Them Crooked Vultures. But it's probably not going

Thank you Harry. Trust me i will go on for a very long time with this.
Good to hear :))))
Thank YOU to made this video!
No problem Ed! It's my pleasure.
Thom Yorke and Matt Bellamy are defo two you should do
I admire him for being so humble when being so incredibly rich.
When you see what Dave is doing it's obviously not for the money.
We all need resources, but it only goes so far. Passion goes further.
So glad you mentioned his *_Scream_* era. They played all the time and I was "lucky" enough to see them too many times as an opening act for many of my favorite bands.
Cheers.
Man, this channel is amazing!!!!!!
Great video man, keep it comin oh btw I think Kurt was Lennon and Dave was McCartney.
That's an interesting comparison. And no problem man. Love making these videos 🙂
Bryan H alright I will lol.
Bryan H there I fixed it.
Bryan H thanks
I love, love, LOVE the Melvins! Saw them in concert last year :)

i got an ad with an interview of dave loveddd it
Hahah, yeah i see that ad being pushed around these days for some reason.
Good video really gives insight into his life
"ouh i think that i found myself a cheerleader
she is always right there when i need her"
oh my god dude youre the best!
I love seeing these videos and how little the people actually know what they're talking about. It's almost like they skim Wikipedia and read what they found.
Marigold was not a collaboration. It even is on the Pocket Watch tape. Dave wrote the whole thing.
"Tommy" Iommi. lol Jesus fucking christ.
GoatOfTheMountains I think he just meant that Cobain invited the other guys to come up with ideas too, versus only writing the songs himself. The video did mention that he "sang, provided lyrics, and melody for the entire song."
I personally would have brought up Scentless Apprentice, which is the lone songwriting credit not attributed to Cobain in all of Nirvana's music. I understand that Marigold was just being used as an example to illustrate a general point, but it was a poor example.
Neil Young Pleaseee!!
This is awesome love the vid and Dave is the best
Dave's personality really suits the music he makes. Very honest all the way though
Alain Johannes hype! You're a man of your word, I love it!
Heheh, yeah sorry about not mentioning Alain in my Josh Homme video. He did have great
importance in both qotsa and TCV (and probably other groups i can't think of now). Thanks for
wathing.
PLEASE DO THE RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS :)
At the moment you mention John Paul Jones in Them Crooked Vultures. You show the sign of John Bonham. But nonetheless. Good video! Enjoyed it very much.
Deef van den Berg Yes sorry about that. I'm glad you enjoyed it though. Cheers from Norway!
Love that you put Mike and Ben in
Dave Grohl is so awesome! His talent is absolutely amazing! He is just so real and has a huge heart which makes him even better! 🧡 Got to go to a Foo Fighters concert in Milwaukee and it was such a great experience. I have had a huge crush on Taylor Hawkins since I was probably around 10. Lol
I liked the video. But I would advice using a de-esser on your voice tracks, it really hurts ears especially when in headphones
Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep that in mind for the next ones.
