You should not stand the valves on end. If a valve falls over or off of the counter it can be bent ever so slightly and even that will cause the valve to be out of alignment in the cylinder. Believe me this happened to me and I had to get the valve straightened. Lay the valves down flat and carefully.
Thanks for the advice! This was my first time doing this and I had minimal knowledge on how to bathe a tuba. I’ll be sure to lay the valves down when I do my other one! 👍
