It's my favourite tune too. For some reason, it always makes me think of Jack and the Pack from Thomas the Tank Engine. Whenever I listen to this music, it makes me imagine a scene of Jack the front-loader and Alfie the excavator whizzing back and forth loading rubble into Thomas's trucks. They seem to do that a lot in their episodes.
All credit for the version should go to GiggleCrunch, who extracted and uploaded the music to UA-cam, and to PeachLover94, who made a comprehensive soundtrack of A Grand Day Out. I merely extracted the song from PeachLover94's video (here: ua-cam.com/video/ZDw40l-hsas/v-deo.html , or check out the description of this video). I could indeed extract "Escape from the Moon" from said video. As a matter of fact, I have been thinking about uploading the rest of the songs in the soundtrack.
Possibly my favourite Wallace & Gromit tune

How do you have such a good version? Could you get "Escape from the Moon" in such good quality?

this hits different without the hammering (pun intended)
I always imagine this playing during the scene in The Last Dinosaur (1977) when the polar-borer crew are building the catapult

Don't know why, but I feel like this theme could be used for Rosie from Thomas the Tank Engine.
