No, at first I though the prop and engine may have been damaged because I was running about 200 rpm higher than normal and at the end of the day I consumed 8 gallons of fuel when I normally consume 6. But when I put the boat back on the trailer I saw that I had forgotten to put the swim step ladder back up and was dragging it around. 😂
I go usually no more than 15 miles off shore, most times I troll along the 1000 fathom ledge or go to the Waianae pinnacles. If you are just starting out, I would not recommend going that far.
@@holoholowithpo thanks for the reply. First time with a small boat buy many years experience fishing off of a ski in Hilo. Farthest we’ve been out is 14 miles. Also illegal for skis. Hence y we got the small boat. Old boat. Had the bottom and inside (all the fiberglass, gel coat and paint) completely redone by a professional and put on a new 60hp Honda. Didn’t do it much at all because was always scared to get busted. So we always just trolled along the shore line to stay legal. Now I don’t have a restriction, I wanna venture farther out. But wondered if u guys just cruzing blindly or following marks/ledges etc. Thanks for the reply. Really like ur videos. Hope I get some luck like u soon lol. Boat finally done and we get one dang storm coming in lol.

How far out do you normally go? Do you aim for markings or just Cruz randomly? Just got my first small boat. Lots to learn.
