What is meant by "in defense of the Cross" or "an apology for the cross"? We know Jesus was crucified. Is the defense that in crucifixion, Jesus saves us?

Making Lazarus alive after FOUR days, was it a re-incarnation or magic? Why after 4 days and not earlier?

At the time of Jesus, it was believed by people that the person may sill be alive when pronounced dead for up to three days (they did not have the medical term, "coma," back then). If they could afford it, the family of a deseaced would hire someone to watch over the corpse for three days. By stating that Lazarus was dead for three days and his body must stink, it was for the benefit of the audience, so they would know that Lazarus was truly dead.
I always thought that was a bit comedical. To me, it always comes across as, "Oh, please do not bother to bring him back! He really must stink to high Heaven."

Is there a way to find out where these quotes on his handout are in the actual text?
