In case people dunno who the main commentator is, then it's Quain Stott's brother, Mitch Stott. He did an illegal but still first Pro Mod 5 second run at 5.98 @ 231 in 2003 at 150 lbs under weight. He did it cause Pro Mod rules was so moving all the time and cause the Aussies were about to beat the US to the first 5 second run, due to stupid IHRA/NHRA rules of keeping Pro Mod over 6.000 seconds.
Ahh, so Donovan is Mitch's son! Never knew. Btw if you don't mind the questions; Do you have any SEGA racers that also run Dragweek or at least run their gasser on the road? I really wanna build a C/D-gas(ser) but if I do, due to the high cost, I wanna use it for both SEGA events and Dragweek and probably other events too. So just wondering if someone has done that already. Maybe Dennis Taylor of Arkansas? (Not sure if he builds to SEGA spec though)
No Dennis is not an SEGA member. I don't see that it would be a problem to do both but an era correct car at drag week would be like taking a knife to a gun fight. If I was going to build for drag week it would be a modern chassis with an old body draped over it and for sure an Automatic. What few rules they have don't keep the gasser spirit in the game. I have a good friend (Larry Larson) that runs the fast class every once in a while at drag week. He has a really cool nova but the slack rules made it un-competitive so he had to built an S10 truck. The truck is fast but not as cool as the Nova he used to run. Quain Stott.
Thanks. I was not set on winning anything in Dragweek with the gasser, but just competing because it's fun and cool to do. So I guess I could build or have built a gasser for C/D-gas in SEGA and just use it for fun in the B-Gas at Dragweek. I probably won't win anything in SEGA either but just wanna enter events. I want all my project cars to do at least two things and to be streetable and legal in most states if possible. So going to plan around this thought to make a SEGA car and just use it for fun in other places.
We have a lot of our members that drive their cars on the street. Biggest problem is tires and low rear gear. Of course a high compression engine don't need to be running pump gas. Changing engines only takes a few hours so you could have a junk engine to stick in it for the street then put the racing engine in it for the SEGA. Don't have to win to have fun at an SEGA event. We have Friday at every event for a play day for y'all to have fun and make all the runs you want. Saturday is race day. Donovan drives his anglia to work every once in a while but he only lives about 4 miles away.
Yeehaw!!......some wicked races there. Alans Vette is a bad looking gasser, perfect stance, everything spot on. Love that aqua 61, too. Better questions from the commentators this time aswell, we want insight into game plans and car set up. Can you let us know engine details when they line up against each other, who's running what; tunnel rams, single carb, injection, etc. Thanks for the download guys, great camera work, especially the top end stuff. Can you show more entrants cars, gassers are always worth looking at, drooling over.
Love the videos, wish y'all would make a video explaining the difference between the classes and maybe pick 3 cars one for each class and detail out the power train :-) thanks
Have one MASSIVE request... For this upcoming summer of 2018, is it possible to bring the HEAT to Kil-Kare speedway in Xenia, Ohio??? Except for The Gathering of the Geezers, it's mostly bracket racing. Mostly Camaros and dragsters... Which gets pretty mundane week after week. A few years ago, the new owners completely revamped the entire facility complete with concrete barriers and extended turn-off. Plenty of pit room. Perfect for Southeast Gassers!!! Think about it!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LOVE SPENDING TIME WITH MY GASSER FAMILY!!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Greetings from Brighton UK ! Yet another fine hour+ of proper drag racing . Thank you all for a great show . Love that Baccaruda

Yea we call him 5 second Mitch, he can drive the wheels off a car. His son in the White Trash Anglia. The apple didn't fall far from the tree.

It's like Christmas morning whenever a new SEGA video comes out!

The classes are divided on a weight per cubic inch ratio.
D/Gas is 10 lbs per cubic inch. C/Gas is 8 lbs per c.i.
A/Gas is 6 lbs per c.i.
