Hating sin and continuing to walk with the Lord are some strong evidences we belong to Him. And anytime we sin, we have God's promise from 1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive. My family and I are well. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. You need to realize those fearful thoughts are lies. For one, I know it is a lie because Jesus never leaves His children. You must engage the enemy by resisting them and their lies, and then surrender to God so He can fight for you. Ignore the fearful thoughts and dwell on God’s promises.

Keep waiting on the Lord. God always uses all things for the good of His children; even suffering. Don't give up, but place all your weight onto the Lord Jesus. Give Him all responsibility and let Him deal with all the consequences.

What if your infliction is fear that cripples you to the point you can't have faith because you fear God has left you..
