I just LOVE how this movie went from Horror to Sci-Fi without missing a beat, while also being more heartfelt than the first one. AND plays Hard Times by Paramore?! One of the few really good horror sequels.

That's how I learned about Paramore
They nailed the emotional core of the film and didn’t try to make it too overly complicated. It’s all about Tree’s emotional growth and journey. Such a great pair of films

What I love about this movie is how it's so reminiscent of Scream with the jump scares, the meta commentary, all leading up to the climax with two killers (one being a surprise), the deaths being caused because the killers blame a cheater, the killers backstabbing eachother, and a knife and gun being used. Tree even has a similar Jean jacket and pants to Sidney in the first movie.
One of my go to Scream fanfiction ideas is Sidney getting to go back in time and see her mother again while dealing with new killers and this movie felt like my fanfiction idea come to life lol.

I love dark comedies like this, where the characters are funny and interesting, the plot seems simple but has layers to it and I like how this sequel expands upon the Groundhog Day concept of Tree’s revival each time she dies and how it affects others while also adding a murder mystery twist.
It felt like a crazy rollercoaster of emotions, but it made sense and I like when films don’t use their time travel/dimension hopping stories as copouts to write themselves out of a plot hole.

Last I saw they were still planning on making a 3rd one. They're definitely peak horror-comedies and adding the sci-fi element gives them a lot to work with.

I love this slight trend I’m seeing with mixing classic movie tropes with horror and I want more like this! Groundhog Day/time loop but make it horror, body switch but make it horror(meaning Freaky). Hope some more writers and directors go this route because it makes them so fun to watch

I remember catching this in cinema, and I went in completely blank and not expecting anything and was basically just curious how they were gonna sequel the first film without it being repetitive. And they DELIVERED on so many levels! It's actually so funny how the film went back to Tree being stuck and that felt more.... exciting than annoying? HAHA! I just love Jessica's performance, she's so funny. Girllll not you mentioning I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. That franchise is like my baby aaaaahhh. They say movie sequels suck, but this one might be an exception. Happy Death Day is one hell of a campy horror masterpiece. I always look forward to our one and only ‘demented’ but fabulous KWEEN of campy horror movies to make reactions to them. They’re seriously worth the wait by the end of the week. ZZAVID, I just had to say this, but you’re literally GLOWING in this. Like maybe it’s not demented aura that’s surrounding you. It’s something else entirely. Also, the intro just had me rolling. This movie had me in the knots more than Amber Heard at the trial. A recommendation would be " I care a lot" or " A simple favor", not even for reacts but for enjoyment. Rosamund is fabulous as always in stripes or as a lesbian and Blake makes me question my sexuality.

I’ve never heard of it, I definitely have to add to my list. And as for Scream, I’m definitely still gonna watch Scream 6 but it makes me sad that it’s due to not being paid the right amount. If it was because she didn’t like the way her character was written that’s one thing but like let’s be honest it’s Sidney, pay her what she’s worth, cuz lord knows they made sure to promote the hell out of her for Scream 5, so they should’ve kept that same energy for this one
