Now, I'm a beggar in a world of choosers, but my one stipulation (and my wife's frankly) was that it had to be "a color" no gray/black etc. I could've gotten on board with white, but am very glad I found a yellow one eventually. The car brings it's own sunshine, with never looking dirty as a bonus, lol.
Rented one of these in Vegas and it had 108,000 miles on it. Blew my mind. When I returned I talked with the owner of the rental company and he says the only issue they have had was two alternators go out. Pretty cool because I can bet those 108k miles weren’t easy ones being a rental. I’ve always like the lambo... after driving it a felt I was to tall and wide so I’m looking at testing out a porches now. Drove a 458 as well and it definitely has more room then the lambo.
The red ignition button cover is the same shape and style of the rear engine hatch. Pause the video when you have the rear hatch up and see It looks just like the ignition button cover.
@@normalguysupercar Dan have you driven the Pista yet? If so, stick to that. I spent a day with a buddy at Knutstorp in Sweden, chasing each others cars. I'm not sure how that Performante did that lap on Nordschleife, because none of us were able to make the Performante hang on to the Pista. We are both at the same level, and both race GT3 and Radicals, so we know pretty well how we compare as drivers. We switched cars several times between my Pista and his Perf. We were both on Cup 2 shoes so equal there, and it should be close. Reality is that it wasn't. Nowhere on the track was the Perf. able to keep up. Not in turns, not when breaking, and most certainly not in a straight line. The Perf. is a cool car, but as a drivers car, the Pista is on a different level. Needless to say I'm one of the naysayers of the Perf. ring time.
Great review, glad you had fun with it! I had the opportunity to track a Gallardo and F430 back to back and share the same thoughts on the engine, power delivery and sound. I did find a strength of the Gallardo was the all wheel drive, but that came at the expense of very heavy steering (plus much heavier car). Quite the workout getting it around one corner after the other. I thought both cars were great, but preferred the Ferrari. I felt it was just the better driving car and was easier to handle. Although the Huracan is light years ahead of the Gallardo so I'm sure it's 110x more refined.
The F430 smokes the Gallardo, but the Huracan is next gen, so the 488 is a more direct competitor. I’ve driven the 458, GT3 and Huracan back to back on the track. The Lambo was the most fun and seemed the most special/exotic - also drove the best near the limit. The next session, I drove the Gen 1 and 2 R8s - obviously 2nd Gen R8 drives so much like the Huracan (for good reason) and the interior is amazing. The Lambo is an exotic car show on the street, but with my actual $$$ I would own the R8 - with and extended warranty of course. 😁. Love your channel and vids!
Mark Jones although i love the styling of the LP560 (and all its variants etc.) it is still a single clutch setup, so yes, the 458 still drives better and shifts faster. The Huracan is a true dual clutch setup and thus, Lamborghini’s answer to the 458.
A Ferrari will never put a smile on your face like a Lambo. This guy was saying "Ferrari" (very unconvincingly) but his face and heart was shouting Lamborghini.

Regarding the start button: on older Lambo models (first gen Aventadors) you do have to lift up the little latch in order to start the engine. Customers complained that they had to do it which is why they made the hole bigger. I agree with you though. It takes away the dramatic effect when you don’t have to lift the latch in order to start the engine

Another great vid! I've been debating between the 458 and the Huracan myself and you just made it harder :-). BTW, if I remember correctly, the engine offset has to do with them needing room for the transaxle that drives the front wheels, since it's AWD.
Awesome review! I had to watch this one right after the Meg review. You did an excellent job of keeping an open mind and be objective in your review. I would feel the same way about that Lambo, I was fortunate enough to drive a 2018 Aventador S and it was an outstanding ride. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the single clutch nonsense.

Maybe the best looking Huracan I've ever seen. I like the cleanliness of that back window much more than the louvered cars. The red is also unusual on a Lambo but looks very good! Nice review!
Nice review! Should have gotten Meg to review it too! Lol! Yeah the huracan and the r8 both share identical drivetrains and motors and feel. Both amazing cars. Maybe you should do more car reviews and do some subscriber cars!
A few clarifications on the Italian words: "Temp. aria", "Temp. olio" and so on are not half translations, "Temp" is short for "Temperatura", it just so happens that the abbreviation is the same as in English. Olio is oil, Aria is air, Benzina is petrol. Like you said "corsa" means race, "strada" means street or road, and yes, "Sport" and "Airbag" are actually words used in the Italian language.
I've driven the 488 and Huracan, the 488 felt very low and heavy, the Huracan felt like a regular car with a tiny windshield, 488 brakes were stiff, and Huracan was touchy, overall I liked the Huracan more...but UA-camrs are playing the hell out of it 🤦🏻♂️

Since at 8 I’ve always liked Lamborghini more then Ferrari. If I had to pick Ferrari’s I have liked it would have to be the 288GTO & testatossa ( 512TR). Other then that they don’t move me.
One weird thing about n/a huracans, it takes a lot to make one shoot flames, even straight pipes just won’t do it, u gotta go like a full aggressive burble tune and no cats, it’s like wow

Driven a few on our rallies around the Tail... aside from the looks and the performance ... its the street presence... the gas station stops are an event all by them selves. I see myself in a Huracan or a 458 down the road. Love them both!

I drove the Hurracan performante from Geneva to Monaco last September and I wanted to die from the seat pain. Super insane driving experience but the worst seats ever.
The car is a beautiful machine... PERIOD! Lamborghini outdid themselves. Everything I've seen and heard about it is excellent and it's not as expensive as other supercars. Great video...as a Ferrari lover myself.
In addition to the cost savings on the plastic vents, aluminum up on the dash in direct sunlight wouldn't feel very good if you were to touch that in hot weather. I remember being a kid coming back from the swimming pool, getting into grandma's car and the hot vinyl seats an metal belt buckles were searing, in the back seat.
If I win the lotto, I'm going to have a modest house and giant garage. I have no beef with either company, and I'm quite sure they could co-exist in my garage.
The Huracan is a great looking car, but I see one obvious difference. Your seated very close to the steering wheel in the Lambo. The 458 seems a lot more spacious, both in cabin and trunk. Super cars!
Your right it's all about what you like. I've drive a few supercars. I still prefer a Corvette Z06. If I could afford an 812 Superfast. I would. Standard, front engine and rear drive is for me all day.
Fun video - your friend and his insurance company must trust you a lot! I've driven a few Lambos, Countach to Aventador, and I'd say that the equivalent Ferraris have always been just a little lighter on their feet, if I can put it that way. But the Lambos always make a statement. The main thing I don't like so much about the current range is the instruments look more video game than something designed to just give you the info you need. I think Ferrari have always done instrument panels better, starting with Urraco versus 308; google it and you'll know what I mean. That Huracan sure sounds nice though, and looks good enough not to need lowering!
Yeah I do like the more traditional dash in my 458 with the real physical tachometer. And I would agree the Ferrari feels a little more nimble, but it's a lot lighter so that's probably why.
I’m 6’3” do you think I would fit in the converts? Also, is there any difference in the 488 hard top or converts when it comes to interior head space? Thanks

@Rupert Evans i totally agree with you about the sound of the F430 vs 458 ( stock form ofcourse). My F430 holds a lot of sentimental value too because my wife and i shopped and bought together. My 40th bday gift from both of us. The shifts in the F430 are very different and more violent (fun) at high rpms too vs the 458 and Huracan. Love these 1st world dilemmas my friend :)

@Zak Jansen you should actually look up the definition of Visceral before you make comments like that. But hey, I get it. You don't like manuals, and I don't like automatics. It's really a personal preference thing. I like to be in control of my vehicle and not let some arbitrary computer decide when to shift. Is it as efficient for drag racing? No... but it's a hell of a lot more fun to drive a manual in twisty canyon roads when you have absolute control over the vehicle you are driving.
I think the Lamborghini community appeals much more to me as a gearhead. The Ferrari community is very strict about what kind of things they would agree with in terms of modifications. The lambo community has people ripping out the front drivetrain for 2wd conversions, and nobody bats an eye.
I’ve got no dog in the fight, but Ferrari seems to take themselves waaaay too seriously. And from the history of Lamborghini, I love that he said “fuck you Ferrari” Amazing machines!
Vents are probably plastic for 3 reasons. 1) weight savings 2) cheaper 3) safety Imagine smashing your head into that shape in an accident if it were made from metal.
Ferrari and Lamborghini both put the paddle shifters on the steering column so they don't turn as the wheel turns. On a Porsche the shifters are on the wheel, and turn with the wheel. This is a huge plus for Porsche.
The reason you have a hole there is because when they first implemented this, it didn’t have a hole, many people complained. So they made a hole for those who want to lift it or for those who just want to push through.

Yes the interior of the 458 is certainly more spacious. But the lambo is a damn good car.

It's hard not to enjoy cars at this caliber no matter who the manufacturer is. Just because I prefer Ferrari doesn't mean I don't appreciate other Supercar brands. :) I just love cars.
Dan, you should do more car reviews as I really enjoyed your impressions of another supercar. You need more cameras though.

Since at 8 I’ve always liked Lamborghini more then Ferrari. If I had to pick Ferrari’s I have liked it would have to be the 288GTO & testatossa ( 512TR). Other then that they don’t move me.

One weird thing about n/a huracans, it takes a lot to make one shoot flames, even straight pipes just won’t do it, u gotta go like a full aggressive burble tune and no cats, it’s like wow

Driven a few on our rallies around the Tail... aside from the looks and the performance ... its the street presence... the gas station stops are an event all by them selves. I see myself in a Huracan or a 458 down the road. Love them both!

I drove the Hurracan performante from Geneva to Monaco last September and I wanted to die from the seat pain. Super insane driving experience but the worst seats ever.
They aren't as comfy as my Daytona seats but they were very nice

For the start stop they added the hole because people were complaining about having to flip it up every time. Originally there was no hole.

The car is a beautiful machine... PERIOD! Lamborghini outdid themselves. Everything I've seen and heard about it is excellent and it's not as expensive as other supercars. Great video...as a Ferrari lover myself.

In addition to the cost savings on the plastic vents, aluminum up on the dash in direct sunlight wouldn't feel very good if you were to touch that in hot weather. I remember being a kid coming back from the swimming pool, getting into grandma's car and the hot vinyl seats an metal belt buckles were searing, in the back seat.
Oh yeah! I had a titanium shift knob on a car back in the day and that thing would burn the hell outta me in the summer.

The Huracan is a great looking car, but I see one obvious difference. Your seated very close to the steering wheel in the Lambo. The 458 seems a lot more spacious, both in cabin and trunk. Super cars!

Your right it's all about what you like. I've drive a few supercars. I still prefer a Corvette Z06. If I could afford an 812 Superfast. I would. Standard, front engine and rear drive is for me all day.

Fun video - your friend and his insurance company must trust you a lot! I've driven a few Lambos, Countach to Aventador, and I'd say that the equivalent Ferraris have always been just a little lighter on their feet, if I can put it that way. But the Lambos always make a statement. The main thing I don't like so much about the current range is the instruments look more video game than something designed to just give you the info you need. I think Ferrari have always done instrument panels better, starting with Urraco versus 308; google it and you'll know what I mean. That Huracan sure sounds nice though, and looks good enough not to need lowering!
Yeah I do like the more traditional dash in my 458 with the real physical tachometer. And I would agree the Ferrari feels a little more nimble, but it's a lot lighter so that's probably why.

Great review and great car. Dan the last time I sat in a Lamborghini I was super cramped at 6'3" as compared to feeling comfortable in a Ferrari. Any idea it that has changed? I didn't catch the year model of the Lamborghini in the video.....did I miss that?
The Huracan is not nearly as spacious as the 458. This was a 17.

@@chenglo8999 if I went back in time I probably would have just kept my 430. Mine was a black spider. new cars, even the 458 dont sound as good as the older ones. The lambo is amazing but as the saying goes you never know what youv lost until you lose it. Or sell it in this case!
@Rupert Evans i totally agree with you about the sound of the F430 vs 458 ( stock form ofcourse). My F430 holds a lot of sentimental value too because my wife and i shopped and bought together. My 40th bday gift from both of us. The shifts in the F430 are very different and more violent (fun) at high rpms too vs the 458 and Huracan. Love these 1st world dilemmas my friend :)

@Zak Jansen you should actually look up the definition of Visceral before you make comments like that. But hey, I get it. You don't like manuals, and I don't like automatics. It's really a personal preference thing. I like to be in control of my vehicle and not let some arbitrary computer decide when to shift. Is it as efficient for drag racing? No... but it's a hell of a lot more fun to drive a manual in twisty canyon roads when you have absolute control over the vehicle you are driving.
Maybe you should make video how much it costs to register cars like that and running coast 👍🏻

I think the Lamborghini community appeals much more to me as a gearhead. The Ferrari community is very strict about what kind of things they would agree with in terms of modifications. The lambo community has people ripping out the front drivetrain for 2wd conversions, and nobody bats an eye.

Ferrari and Lamborghini both put the paddle shifters on the steering column so they don't turn as the wheel turns. On a Porsche the shifters are on the wheel, and turn with the wheel. This is a huge plus for Porsche.

The reason you have a hole there is because when they first implemented this, it didn’t have a hole, many people complained. So they made a hole for those who want to lift it or for those who just want to push through.
