  • Kate tumbles 20 pounds of stones in her large tumbler, then uses a vibratory tumbler to polish the stones to a stunning sheen. Join the fun as Kate picks through the pile and examines individual rocks from around the world! Along with standard-sized tumbled stones, Kate includes end pieces and slabs that would otherwise go to waste. Tumbling large stones is a bit of a challenge, but the results speak for themselves!

I’ve tumbled rocks from Lake Superior, MI, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Wyoming and now from Montana’s Yellowstone River. I found Michigan rocks from Lake Superior are the easiest to tumble since Mother Nature has done most of the work and the rocks from Yellowstone River are the hardest due to all the cracks and indentations. I still love tumbling and have so many beautiful rocks placed throughout my home.

Thanks to Currently Rockhounding, i purchased a fabric spray cleaner that works great for shooting the muck out of the cracks. I actually like the not-totally-smooth texture of the rocks, as long as i can get them shiny. :)

@@KatyDidRocks I have this aesthetic preference for irregiularly shaped stuff partially shiny and partially rough... I was hoping I could skip the rotary step and maybe do some hand polishing of the rough spots after the lotto.

Hi Kate! I was actually browsing Etsy when I saw your new video. I am looking for interesting stones for pendants. Jasper never disappoints with so many varieties. Ever consider selling some of the little guys for pendants that? I'm in Ohio, so besides tumbling up some flint and one chalcedony piece, it's not super interesting. What a great collection of beauties you have today! My favorite color is brown btw. So many shades. I love the petrified wood you find also!
