I agree with your take on the One Love Movie. It was okay for what it was. I think it was produced well and I think Kingsley did well in the role. However, the movie needed more. I didn’t even quite get how Bob because such a big act. There was a lot missing. Definitely needed more
The movie wasn’t about bob becoming Bob Marley. It was it more so focus on how that one incident change the course of his life. I personally think they did it that way because they’ll eventually develop a series about him. More money that way

In terms of the One Love movie, I think we all had a misconception of what the movie should be about. It really was centered around the peace concert. I actually thought we were getting a biopic (full life story), and so I was critical of the movie. After watching it, I understood what it was about. I personally think that a life story would have been better served as a first movie, and then this One Love movie would have made more sense.

As much as we all would love for a Jamaican to play Bob, we have to remember at the end of the day business is business. Paramount wasn't gonna invest in someone 'unknown', you need someone known to help with marketing it. And Kingsley was truly the only non-Jamaican in the movie. From Lashana who played Rita and Naomi who played Marcia Griffiths are all Jamaican. The police officers, the little kids, Band members are all Jamaican.
