Probably the best line of 4 stroke engines ever made right there!!!

Have the 40 and 48 surpass in that series, a couple of 52s from later. Best ever made imo

That is like the Surpass 120P I had about 14 years ago. Right out of the box that darn thing would sit and idle all day at 1800 rpm. Just sat there ticking over as happy as can be. Darn thing was amazing.

Hello David. I am a long time viewer and a new subscriber. I feel like I have seen literally every video you have done, many more than once so I decided to join in and get active. I am 70 years old and have been flying RC since I was 13. I love the approach you have have taken with reviewing all types of engines. I really feed off of the passion you have for model engines in general, current flyer or not.
I flew 2 stroke for many years until 4 strokes came out. I owned literally owned all of the silver top O.S. Surpass engines from .40 to .91, now Saitos from .56 to .125, a Y.S. 91 and an Enya .120. I totally get all of the things that you bring up in when making comparisons. My two favorite engines of all time was an O.S. .40 Surpass and an O.S.72 Surpass ,both silver tops like the one in this video. I have always broken in engines on the planes, with two runs on the ground and while flying after that until broken in. I really love the test stand you use and have been considering order a Mayatech from China. What do you suggest that I do for test stand components. Thank you again for all you do for the hobby, you have a huge, positive impact. I await your response.

I run with a bare minimum now as you can see. I am not familiar with the Mayatech stand. In older videos I had a more elaborate setup to include a static thrust portion. As I said, I no longer do those things. I really cannot suggest any other components without knowing your intentions. All you need to break-in an engine is a platform and an engine test fixture. Thank you for your subscription!

It’s amazing how noisy the prop is compared to the engine.

Hello David I recently found an old 40SF Ringed OS Max engine, while Taking it apart I somehow lost the washer I think they call it a trust bearing that goes over the crank shaft and then the aluminum prop not goes over that, Any idea where I can get that part without it I can't run the motor I'm still looking for piston and sleeve Also any help would be appreciated thank you Peter

All I can say it to find a manual with the part number and search eBay using the part number. Otherwise post a wanted ad on RCForums. There are no suppliers of these parts anymore. The part is called a thrust washer. Perhaps one from a 40 FX would fit. That part number is 46120000

I never. With a fly wheel it would idle like a hit-n-miss farm engine, I bet.
