- Magic Mountain has been renowned for its abundance of historic treasures ever since miners first looted it in the late 19th century. For decades now, scientists have attempted to uncover the ancient stories of Colorado at this fascinating site that reveals human history in layers of time. Researchers have now invited their neighbors to dig into this place, too. From looting to citizen science!

Excellent. Thank you! I played around the remnants of the abandoned Magic Mountain in the late 60's, oblivious to the deep history under my feet. In educational programming, PBS has no equal.
More local histories please! ')
I remember Magic Mountain
You need to contact my son and his wife about his Finds on his land in North Central Missouri. On the Grand River yes he is published and has found artifacts from recent to 4,000 to 10,000 years old. The new artifact books have thier archeologist introducing thier find and dig conducted.

As soon as she used the word diverse it was time to stop!
Much circumambulating and little substance. Expect better from PBS. :-(
What they mean in context compared to being on someone's mantle. Well what do they mean to the people when you take them from context and lock them up in a vault in the basement of the museum and the people don't get to see them? Most artifact hunters know more than you SOB's will ever know. Such as a stone point found in Colorado that comes from Texas. Or different types of stone traded from as far as Ohio. Collectors could help with information but they are treated like criminals.
