I just read the most touching and heartbreaking story and while after I finished I checked the description. Turns out it was based off of this song. I've been crying for an hour now. I love The National, their lyrics are so lovely. Couldn't imagine it done any other way.

@RawrFishCake It's called Alone on the Water, it's a Sherlock Holmes fanfiction. It's really beautifully written and makes me cry every time, haha. Sounds silly to be getting emotional over something like that but it's really touching.

A highly overestimated single. Lyrics nothing to vouch for and an extremely plain guitar riff altogether. No magic around here, hardly even mediocrity in plain dullness.
