Oh, theres a stone in the meadow with all the weight of the world Where the flowers are watered by the brown eyes of a girl She cries for the life that her one true love gave Yeah, theres none so beautiful as the brave None so beautiful as the boy who cries freedom None so beautiful as the voice that carries far
......on this day(06-06) never let us forget the sacrifice our Veterans have made for this country. Extend your hand and Thank them....they will always smile and say "you are welcome "
God bless you Gino, everyone involved in this beautiful song/video... and above all... May God bless those who made the greatest sacrifice in the name of liberty & freedom... for me, for my children & for all of humanity. You are ALL forever in my heart & in my prayers. May God be with you.💕
honor for all those who gave their lives to defend their homeland. may the earth be light to them and rest in peace.honor for all those who gave their lives to save that of anotherthank you Ginogreat song, great voice, great heart.
None so strong as love beyond all reason that fears no evil Undaunted by the dark or any wicked mans heart Oh theres a cross on a hill where no steeple bells ring A shrine with no name where little children sing to the rhythm that rocks us From the cradle to the grave
Well theres a cross on the hill where the ragweed has grown Where a mothers young son sleeps all alone All for the land that he dreamed he could save Yeah, theres none so beautiful as the brave
Mmmm.... interesting. The hearts that embrace the feeling from this greatest artist (from the view of my humble soul) remind me this world is still shared with others that believe in love and humanity. I'm attending to his concert next Thursday in Mexico City to listen and let the feelings go. Marina, thanks for the lyrics and for you being... being you.
None so beatifull as a brave!! My daughte, Cathy, is 25 years old. She's got Cerebral Palsy!! She, and her mom (Me) are braves, after all than we've been through
It's not often I'm moved to tears by a “new” song. It happened moments ago, and there's a story behind this one. I first heard the song an hour ago - performed by a jazz singer in Barcelona Spain. (I'll include her version at the end of this note). That version by Laura Simo prompted me to find out who wrote this lovely ballad, aptly titled NONE SO BEAUTIFUL. Composed by Canadian-born Gino Vannelli. His version first, set to the video that left me quite 'undone' as our parents used to say. ua-cam.com/video/iLmNz7OyvZo/v-deo.html Well there's a cross on the hill where the ragweed has grown Where a mothers young son sleeps all alone All for the land that he dreamed he could save Yeah, there's none so beautiful as the brave ----- I was in my late 20s when I first heard music from an Italian-Canadian singer named Gino Vannelli. In the ocean of mediocrity that was popular music in the early 70s, I remember thinking that Gino was outstanding. (He wrote all his own songs, and had at least one No. 1 hit in his homeland.) Gino grew up in Montreal, where his Dad had a barber shop, and moved to Los Angeles with his kid brother. Vannelli recalls that they were “flat broke” and waiting one night in desperation outside the A&M record studios -- waiting for the record label founder and trumpet great Herb Alpert to emerge. The moment he came out to the parking lot, Vannelli, “fighting his way past security guards” was able to hand Herb Alpert a demo tape. It led to Gino Vannelli getting a recording contract with A&M. I often wondered what happened to Gino Vannelli. As of 2017 he is alive and well and living a quiet life in Oregon where he teaches music. Inspired by the death of a special forces Navy seal from a nearby small town in Oregon, he produced this video. Jeffrey Alan Lucas was one of eight seals killed 12 years ago when his helicopter was shot down in Iraq. (All 12 persons aboard were killed). Gino performs his song to accompany a video tribute to that young man: Jeffrey Alan Lucas was 33 when he died, leaving a wife and four-year-old son. Near its close the video shows young friends and family holding up a sign saying “We love you Jeff.” Not many videos can move me to tears, but this one by Gino Vanelli highlights a great song - strong melody, brilliant, artless lyric - that deserved to be seen and heard by a wider audience. Give me a break, Gino... I'm crying my heart 💔 out...
You, sir, have an angelic soul
Simply breathtaking.
Beautiful tribute!
I think of my father every time I hear this; in war, cradling the remains of the man-his best friend-that he was unable to save.
As is the case with so many other Vannelli songs it goes into so many places harmonically, it's a new adventure to listen to it each time.
THANK YOU GINO FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO THE BRAVE ,LOVE YOU AND YOURS FOREVER .❤
