You have a Good Eye for a Lovely Olds .
I’m still mad as hell at GM ...” Giant Mistakes” , for their murder of Oldsmobile AND Pontiac !
Both fantastic model lines which could and should have been saved !
It was caused by GM’s stupidity , greed , laziness and lack of incentive to build proper cars for the times !
The world of auto making was changing in front of their eyes and they did nothing to build new small/ smaller sized cars which the American people were going to .
And don’t say , we’ll..the Chevy Vega, It was Junk and a travesty !
America needed economy and cars people could PARK, afford to fuel and that ran well .
The Japanese saw the opportunity to produce the cars we wanted and DID it , and are still doing it !

It's always good to see some AMC Eagle content. Some of the most underrated 4x4 cars ever produced, basically a Jeep with independent front suspension and a full interior. I have owned 6 AMC cars over the years and still have my original 1984 Eagle wagon I drove in high school in 1995. This car is very interesting and just goes to show how some AMC cars were sold oddly optioned. This car is a Limited, but has almost no options beyond the Limited trim level. It has the rallye gauges, tach, console, package tray, and the leather seats which are part of the Limited package. Oddly, this car has no cruise control, no AC, no roof rack, no rear wiper, no leather wrapped steering wheel, no power windows, and no power locks. Its essentially a stripper model Limited. The only options on this car I see are the new for '84 aluminum mags and the Eagle logo mud flaps. The tilt column is an option, but might be included in the Limited package. The car most likely has intermittent wipers which might also be standard on the Limited. This car was not cheap in 1984. The base wagon price was about $12000 with fully optioned Limited models running over $18,000. That's a lot of money in 1984 considering other mid sized domestic cars were priced about $7000. Good luck with this mint example of American engineering from American Motors.

A great very comfortable car. AMCs weren't popular, but they were great.

I like the AMC EAGLE . I owned on just like that one. 4x4 6 cly. I can't believe the price that it went for. That is unbelievable. The thing is they do go good in the snow. Only thing it was bad was the vacuum 4 wheel drive lines. They dry out leak vacuum an won't lock in. I do like it.

I’m a huge fan of the old Eagles. When I was about five years old my parents had an eagle two-door.😀 it was in the exact same color as the one in the video!

Dennis, it is a 1966 Olds 98. We used to have a 66 Old Dynamic 88 4 door. Those cars were huge back then. We used to call it the floating living room. It drove great.

AMC was way ahead of the curve in SUVs, too bad the public didn't realize it at the time. I drove a 74 Jeep Cherokee through 2 ft of snow in a field and it didn't even spin a tire! The Jeep line back then was incredible.

My aunt had the exact same eagle and matching sedan version. Low miles on both. I used to borrow one as a drift boat shuttle car for fishing trips in Idaho. They drove nice. If I’d only knew then. My uncle loved his Chrysler products.

I had an '81 AMC Eagle SX4 (the short chassis 'rally' Eagle). Wasn't low mileage though: at over 200,000 miles. Originally from northern VA. Was great fun and useful on back woods road to my family cabin and back. And even just moving around in an icy/ snowy parking lot, with that AWD.

My first ever LEGAL Car in 1979 was a 1963 Olds Dynamic 88 w/ the 394 Rocket , I was 17 yrs old and I had bought an old rail buggy at 15 and a wrecked 340 demon at 16... But the Olds Dynamic 88 was my first Legal Car... The back seat was 72 inches wide and I was 5'11" it was a teenage boys dream ... Many Blessings , SMR

Wow! That AMC is a blast from the past. My parents had a 74 Hornet Wagon. White with the woodgrain on the sides. I can remember sitting on the roof of that car with my sister when we went to the drive in movies. I was 6 or 7 at the time. 👍😎

That Olds 98 is the way to tour the USA, that 455 will just rumble along on cruise in the middle of it's fat torque curve and give plush ride in air conditioned splendor, what a fabulous Classic American car.

My family owns a small flooring store in rural southern Ohio and we had a customer, a older farmers wife, that loved her AMC Eagle's. I know she had three at one time, her original had over 200k on it and a 2 parts cars.
