  • Instead of bleeding each wheel for a little bit of air, I decided to vacuum bleed thr system

    Kenny, you are so funny when you refer to Moe's weed whacking going on outside while you are trying to make a video. You must have a lot of patience! Great video...thank you!

    Awesome, I knew it was possible to vacuum bleed via the master cylinder. You just verified for me.

    Very clever, thanks for the great tip. I have a Mityvac kit and reservoir adapter should I ever need to vacuum bleed.

    I used to put a dab of anti-seize on bleeder fitting threads.

      @@WrenchingWithKenny - How bout it! Kinda like paying it forward! When I hear a mechanic say that, I want to go to THAT guy and NOT the one who tells me that I need a new caliper because the bleeder fitting is seized. Especially when he changed that caliper out the last time. That just happened to me and that is why I went back to my tools!
      I just spent the last week cleaning 40 to 50 years of rust, oil, grease and crud off of all my tools before they went in the new tool cart and chest. God, you should have seen the inside of my old tool boxes. I'm repurposing them. I even sanded and refinished my ratchet/socket cases. I'm slowly acquiring metric stuff now and looking into a decent ELM327 for my laptop. Thanks to you, I'm learning many of the nuances of the newer cars out there. And Thanks to you, (a great person) who recommended Trans Assemblee Goo, my green tub just arrived from Amazon two days ago! From time to time, things get a little too quiet in retirement. Oh well, break's over. Back to work!

      I don't really have a choice: I used a bit on a suspension repair about a year ago, dropped it in the tool bag afterward and now everything my tools touch gets it.
      It's like watching a baby eat cake: it goes everywhere and you can never clean it all off.

    i think i might use this method for my mustangs clutch slave cylinder. There is no bleeding option for it other than pumping the pedal 1000 times.

      @QtheMisanthrope Absolutely! Let me know how the repair goes. You've got this. Keep wrenching! Kenny

      @@WrenchingWithKenny I don’t want to jump the gun but after i performed the procedure the shifting felt a lot better. I guess time
      will tell.

    I believe the vacuum pressure applied at the Master cylinder will pull the caliper pistons in. Lol

    Is snow plowing the hardest treatment for a truck possible..?

    • @WrenchingWithKenny
      @WrenchingWithKenny  2 роки тому

      It really depends on who's doing the plowing and who owns the truck . And the other uses of the truck. I usually took care of my trucks , but the one in question was only used in my driveway and on our road . I used to hammer the snot out of it . It served me well . Plowing is hard on a truck if you make it that way . If you go easy and clean the truck after every excursion , it's not that bad .
