I don't like the idea of anyone touching a vintage watch, as long as it's working. The wear shows the life and more often than not it's history.😊

I think it’s important to note even on a modern watch. They will be vintage one day. And the problem with polish on the vintage is that they’ve been polished so many times they get worn down, lose their finish etc. the less polish the better. My grandpas gmt I have for example the rolex logo on the clasp is half polished away. Live with the scratches.

It's very important to distinguish for modern watches. In the past few years some new dealers were in the habit of polishing Rolex sports models. This was done to watches only one or two years old to the extent that the teeth on the bezel became smooth as did the entire case. I was offered many watches as mint that had been brutalized and smoothed over. The market should not tolerate it now. Collectors shouldn't either.

I did not understand the question; I was going to answer yes and explain that the fashion industry is now into vintage clothing. I am sure it has existed for a while, probably started by hippies and thrift stores. At one point, I knew it was big when Kim Kardashian made a comment of her outfit being vintage from a particular year. All things vintage have a cool factor

I thought I was the only collector with this opinion.
