- This video shows you the proximity switch used in industrial machines, CNC machines, and other applications. I introduce you to the proximity switch, show you how to wire the proximity switch, and then configure the proximity switch for Mach3.

Thank you for taking your time and making these informative capsules. Many of these pieces arrive without instructions.
I ask him what happens if we use normal and closed. I ask what happens if we use normal closed proximity switch.
thankyou great video sorted my problem on my printer switch was too far away from, the metal
Thnx for thé vidio pro it is useful
Thanks!
Well explained
Need more explaination when having mutiple proximity on each end . Can they be connected in series
Yes, they can, and I will probably make a video on this. As long as the proximity switch is NC type, the switch can be connected in series. As long as the switch is getting power to enable the sensor, the output signal works very much the same as a typical mechanical switch.
@@PatrickHoodDaniel can photoelectric sensor be it used for CNC machine. Br100-ddt sensor .I have some in the factory remove from a scrap machine
Sir, can you please explain with schematic diagram and components used in electromagnetic accelerator using this sensor which rebel the ball bearing away when it reaches near the inductive coil from it.
I needed this for my science project in my college. Please...
Can I use two inductive proximity sensor with the 24 volt power supply
Absolutely! You can use many. The proximity sensor does not draw much current.
What about using aluminium as the trigger metal?❤
sooooo what happens to the pokeys57 inputs running 5v logic when your prox switch is inactive and you pushing 24v into it?? im hesitant to try as i dont wanna blow up the board.
I didn't make that clear in the video. You would need to use a 5v proximity switch. We have those in stock and will be adding them to that page. Thanks for pointing this out.
@@PatrickHoodDaniel. I don’t see the 5v proximity switches on your site. I guess I need to buy a level shifting optocoupler to reduce the voltage from switch down to 5v?
@@PatrickHoodDaniel I think this is my issue with prox that work sometimes but not all the time.... They are 6-36v I think it was 12v powering them.
I need to use the switches that I have as they fit and are just the right size.. (SN04-N DC NPN NO)
I tried to power with 5v and no go, (edit: I was able to get the switches to activate using 5v from the LCD connector. I have the new enclosure hooked up and the limits seemed to be working). Need to mess with the probe inputs still I do have one odd prox at the top of the Z that is acting squirrelly but I am chocking that up to the fact it is different from all the others.
Fun fact: Past Don decided to add diodes in line... so testing them through me off slightly..
Nothing seems to have been harmed by the 12v and jumping the GRN and limits will still activate mach 3 stop.
Thanks
How to connect Proximity Switch to a EIHONG NK280 with I/O EX9A4 Relay board
Was this NPN or PNP sensor ?
This one was probably NPN.

Great
How does NC work, show it
Can you elaborate on your question a little?
