The king of DIY great video man, just got my super red arowana, 6 inches and I cant help but to sit by my aquarium over and over admiring the fish, love your blood red as well👍🏻
He would need at least 5 feet deep being in Nova Scotia. And have a floating heater to keep a hole open. It gets mighty cold in the Maritime provinces.
Dude, you can never contain your infectious excitement in any of your uploads. You so remind me of a kid that discovers mommy and daddy are surprising him with a summer vacation to the Great Barrier Reef! You've gone from serious pro aquarist to UA-camr in fish geek heaven, and I'm loving every vid for it.
Cool to hear you talk about this and how excited you are about it back then....especially given the current situation and it's vast new environment. Great stuff.
that was the ultimate surprise but a true fan knows once upon a time you talked about having that red arowana not going to say I'm a fortune teller but let's just say I'm probably your number one fan if not number two
Can u do an update on all the tanks just to keep us up to date about the other aquariums like the office tank etc. There has been many changes recently and I would like a quick update. Loving the uploads recently, really enjoying them :)
Congratulations Joey, even though it's yet to mature in colour you can see how fantastic the fish is in quality. Once again as an Australian I'm happy and envious because we can't get these legally here. Happy to live vicariously through you vids.
I'm so happy that Joey is not doing the dogmatic and potentially toxic "drip method" to acclimate his fish. Really appreciate your contribution to the hobby, and your recent additions are nothing short of epic.
Joey: This one is already going to be my favorite Arowana The OG Arowana: Oh I see Joey, I see, you'll learn your lesson when you add tank mates again to my tank
I want an Arawana soo bad now! I love aquariums, I have three in my apartment right now. I can not wait to move so I can have a tank that size for a beautiful Arawana. You also encouraged me to consider discuss breeding in the future, when I finish school.
Congrats Joey! Beautiful fish! I'll be around to watch as long as you keep posting. Thank you for all your advice, time, and knowledge. Planning on building a plywood aquarium soon. Maybe for saltwater....
Apologies, doesnt mean to let you down, but it is not a high quality red arowana. In my country ( from where its origin ) I can get that for almost approx almost 200usd for that size in traditional fish market. For the good one cost me about 1,800 usd.But I am realized it must be very hard to get one in your country. How much does it cost in there? Btw I am truly support all your tutorials, keep up the good work.
Joey, why don't you shoot a video focused on the new arrowana's tank only? so that we can enjoy him/her swimming in there as you do. without following him/her, just put the camera in front of the tank and leave it there 5 or 10 minutes
I'm a super novice fishkeeper, but Im in love with arowanas. I guess I'll just have to watch this guy grow on your channel until Ive reached their level
Hey, a little off topic but i've been wondering for a while, where did you get your african shell dwellers? I live in Montreal and was looking for someone that could ship here. Thanks! Love your videos.
Yes, but also make sure to have plenty of territories for them to claim(plants rocks caves), its said they work best in groups of 5 or more angel fish together. Also with my experience this fish aren't very hardy so make sure all levels of the tank are running right and the tank has been running for at least 1 month already.
and if I have just one angel fish in a unplanted tank will it become aggressive towards his tank mates I'm a lil new to fish keeping so im scared to make a planted tank and fail
Another great video yet again Talking about the blacked out aquarium I do the same with my shrimp aquariums by putting black sheets of paper on the sides and this makes my shrimp have a much better colouration Love the rays!!
john lo They are illegal in the US. Can't get them through the border. And those guys are smart enough not to risk their business trying to smuggle one in.
lol I'm sure if I saw it everyday it would get old but man they look awesome. I would love to have some, I guess it's more the fact that I am being told I can't, legally that is. Maybe one day
i know there are many reason why you dont need to put anything more in the tank than a filtrationsystem, but it is still an animal which should be kept in an natural environment and plants do look pretty :)
marvin heberger that kind of fish doesn't "need" a natural environment, rocks and sand and plants could possibly damage the fish plus DIY has really good filtration so nothing is needed
Wow - another one! What a tease you are, man. I was waiting to see what you were going to do with the Goldfish tank. I thought you were going to pull out a Dovii for a second there. Beautiful fish 👍
I'm soooo happy you got another Asian arowana!I haven't been a subscriber for as long as others so I never got to see your other arowana grow up,I can't wait to see him grow!!!
sweet congrats on your new red arowana. now you got to pump the size first and then do tanning using pink light. feeding market prawn and crickets and vitamins will bring out the deep red colour. if you intend to have tankmates in future, now it is the best time to introduce them into the tank when the red aro is small.
Congrats on the new addition! Could you maybe, make an Arowana care guide about how to grow it? what environment is required to obtain optimum coloration? Size of the grow out tank? etc
Damn it Joey! Not only have you given the get up and go to really get back into fish keeping again, not only have you given me the inspiration and know how to actually make my own tank and filters but now now this. Now I have seen a red Asian Arowana, it is on the must have list! Can't wait to see how your new addition will grow into his or hers colors.
awesome fish Joey. always been fascinated with how truly red these guys get. can't wait to watch him grow up and become a monster. well worth the wait! congrats
I will be going LIVE on facebook tonight! I will show the fish, feed then and go over more details!

The king of DIY great video man, just got my super red arowana, 6 inches and I cant help but to sit by my aquarium over and over admiring the fish, love your blood red as well👍🏻
I can't wait to see more of your new arowana!
love it really do all the new fish look great
So… isn’t this arowana eventually going to outgrow that tank?
OMG are you going to breed them?!
a single neon tetra probably, commenting before the video because i know i'm right...
Holy likes that's a lot of likes
CallyMac that would have been amazing lol
I know... kinda small tank for one but i think it'll be Ok
CallyMac could always move it into a tropical pond when it gets bigger
hahaha
Your profile pic 👌
Your excitement, passion and enjoyment of the hobby is exactly what it's all about. Nice fish Joey and very glad you got rays again
ASIAN AROWANA!
Actually didn't expect that! Awesome!
Wow never expected... nice choice 👍🏻... please make video on Arowana food and diet to grow it faster with good colours...
Harshal Patil he has already made a vid on how he makes their food 😊
Don't spoil it :(
TheoriZe i understood "asian marijuana"
Sorry, but he sadly passed away.
All credit to you for giving your fish so much space , not sure I would have the willpower to devote a huge tank to just one fish.
He will grow into a 30" monster.
Dang. And here I thought sure that tank was cleared for a betta. ;-)
i though it was a guppy.
Aquatic Variation I thought it was a red cherry shrimp
HE IS SOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!! Congrats Joey!!! So excited to se him (and the rays!!!) grow!!!
Not entirely an aquarium build suggestion, but with the goldfish there is the option of digging out a heated fishpond with a cover for your yard...
+AzraelThanatos I'm in Canada...
Frozen fish rofl
If you have 2 feet or more and an air pump running they should be fine.
He would need at least 5 feet deep being in Nova Scotia. And have a floating heater to keep a hole open. It gets mighty cold in the Maritime provinces.
The king of DIY well you got yourself a frozen fish fingers pond

Arowanas are not in my future, but I sure appreciate them. Beautiful fish!
Sweet choice Joey, wasn't expecting you to get another, definitely looking forward to seeing it transform more, Thanks for sharing and your time😊
Wow!!!! Merlion
for me the best Farm
they are known here in Asia to produce pure breed and high quality arowana
Best of the best!
Will you keep it in that tank or put it together with the other aowana?
2 arowana cant be house together because they will fight and both the arowana the size is very big different .
ok, thanks
Congratulations Joey, even though it's yet to mature in colour you can see how fantastic the fish is in quality. Once again as an Australian I'm happy and envious because we can't get these legally here. Happy to live vicariously through you vids.
gasp, i heard your old aros heart break when you said the new guy would be your favorite
Yeah that was a bit harsh haha!
I got a 125 African cichlid tank and now I'm building a huge plywood tank for a arrowana. Thanks for all the info joey
Bahahaha!!! Ok ok ok Joey. I now forgive you for temporarily parting with the goldfish. That fish is worth it! So freakin gorgeous! 😍😍
I'm so happy that Joey is not doing the dogmatic and potentially toxic "drip method" to acclimate his fish. Really appreciate your contribution to the hobby, and your recent additions are nothing short of epic.
Joey: This one is already going to be my favorite Arowana
The OG Arowana: Oh I see Joey, I see, you'll learn your lesson when you add tank mates again to my tank
So lucky to get that opportunity to keep a red arowana! SO awesome!!!
Should've seen this guy coming but I honestly wasn't expecting another Arowana 😂 beautiful looking fish though

I want an Arawana soo bad now! I love aquariums, I have three in my apartment right now. I can not wait to move so I can have a tank that size for a beautiful Arawana. You also encouraged me to consider discuss breeding in the future, when I finish school.
You got 2/3.. your missing discus 😉

i knew it!!!! you're too predictable joey 😂
I have not been so excited to see another person's fish, ever. Hope she grows to have a deep red colour.
I guess I'll just have to watch this guy grow on your channel until Ive reached their level
when you going to do the drop tank?
In 3 days...
The king of DIY cool can't wait
Hey, a little off topic but i've been wondering for a while, where did you get your african shell dwellers? I live in Montreal and was looking for someone that could ship here. Thanks! Love your videos.
Wow! I'm excited for you! I must say that I didn't see that coming and he's a beautiful arowana that's for sure. Thanks for sharing joey.
I've been thinking on getting angel fish and I was just wondering if it's OK to put like 2 or 3 in a 55 gallon tank ?
Yes, but also make sure to have plenty of territories for them to claim(plants rocks caves), its said they work best in groups of 5 or more angel fish together. Also with my experience this fish aren't very hardy so make sure all levels of the tank are running right and the tank has been running for at least 1 month already.
chris fuentes if it is planted I'd suggest getting 4-5 if it's not planted they may become very aggressive towards each other
Badraven1169 I agree with this person
any tank mate suggestions?
and if I have just one angel fish in a unplanted tank will it become aggressive towards his tank mates I'm a lil new to fish keeping so im scared to make a planted tank and fail
Another great video yet again Talking about the blacked out aquarium I do the same with my shrimp aquariums by putting black sheets of paper on the sides and this makes my shrimp have a much better colouration Love the rays!!
Hey Joey by any chance do you think your friend at live exotic import are welling to ship those Asian arowana to California ?
john lo They are illegal in the US. Can't get them through the border. And those guys are smart enough not to risk their business trying to smuggle one in.
john lo illegal
I really love how you give your fish such a huge amount of space to swim. love your channel
Get jardinis!

Andricity

lol I'm sure if I saw it everyday it would get old but man they look awesome. I would love to have some, I guess it's more the fact that I am being told I can't, legally that is. Maybe one day
Andricity where are you? I can't wait her, I'm in Australia. But we still have the Saratoga which is a angrier arowana
As Jay from prehistoric pets would say you are living the dream . I'm liking the new additions looking forward to seeing them grow
why dont you put some stones in the tank or some hiding places for the fish
They wouldnt hide, they stay at the top of the water pretty much always
i know there are many reason why you dont need to put anything more in the tank than a filtrationsystem, but it is still an animal which should be kept in an natural environment and plants do look pretty :)
marvin heberger, far easier to keep it clean with nothing in it.
marvin heberger that kind of fish doesn't "need" a natural environment, rocks and sand and plants could possibly damage the fish plus DIY has really good filtration so nothing is needed
marvin heberger you're asking a question that's been answered in this channel numerous times
Wow - another one! What a tease you are, man. I was waiting to see what you were going to do with the Goldfish tank. I thought you were going to pull out a Dovii for a second there. Beautiful fish 👍

Congrats, Joey!! I suspected you were getting the red Asian arrowana. It's always wonderful to get a fish that you've wanted for soooooooo long!
he's gonna look amazing in the all black enclosure.
With the back drop of a couple arawanas in blacked out tanks, you're going to have to start developing a super villain alter ego.
It would be great to see a compilation from all the updates you made on you older arowana !!!
Cool man. The red ones are the most beautiful ones.
sweet congrats on your new red arowana. now you got to pump the size first and then do tanning using pink light. feeding market prawn and crickets and vitamins will bring out the deep red colour. if you intend to have tankmates in future, now it is the best time to introduce them into the tank when the red aro is small.

Great choice Joe. I also love the look of the fish.
