So, all the characters are based on real life authors and the name of their ability's is always the name of something the real life author wrote. (Ex: the author Dazai Osamu wrote a book called No Longer Human)
Also, a sad fact, Dazai's constant suicide atempts are from the author killing himself.

There are very few reactions of Bungou Stray Dogs so I'm glad that you react to this show because it's incredible, it's full of mysteries and the characters are very charismatic, a few months ago it was announced that the 4th season will come out so I hope you enjoy this anime
Characters are based of real life japanese, american and russian authors, and their powers are named after their most famous book

It's rare to see someone reacting to a gem like Bungo Stray Dogs now. We only got S3 two years ago and 4 is coming soon, so it's a good time to start this! Just be sure to watch Dead Apple and the OVAs before you get to S3 or you will be confused as fuck! 😅

Finally! This reaction happened ages ago when Original JaVon was still here. Anyway Bungou Stray Dogs helped me through my Kekkai Sensen withdrawals.
I enjoyed season 1 & I like the ensemble cast including Atsushi not just Daizai & his past homies. I appreciate the mix of comedy, seriousness, & good storytelling of this anime.
I actually made Green tea soup once based on Atsushi's request for Green tea on rice & it was good. My only issue was the repetitive orphanage abuse flashback of Atsushi for this season, but otherwise I had a good time!

I know from the description that you've reached eps.9, trust me this show is getting better in every season. And don't forget to watch their movie too "Dead Apple" before season 3! It's really dope.
Anyway, disclaimer about Dazai, his character is made exactly like his original author, Osamu Dazai, about his interest in suicide was also the same, and sadly his life ended in suicide. his novel "No Longer Human" is truly heartbreaking but such a masterpiece. And if i'm not mistaken, there's an anime that picks up the story of the novel itself, the title is "Aoi Bungaku" which has 12 episodes, and has received many good reviews so far.
Ps: Also the detail about Dazai's bandages it's a form of "credit" mangaka BSD to Osamu Dazai about his selfharm scar. The real Osamu Dazai, from whom the character is written off (and decommissioned quite well), was a victim of sexual violence and corruption from early childhood. Also, he was the most unloved child in the family, terribly afraid of his father. His injuries were the cause of all his actions, feelings and attempts at suicide. The created image of Dazai - an attempt to tell about this, avoiding long explanations, is an allegory to such concepts of the psyche: trauma is always visible, it can not be washed away, it remains as a stigma.
