    Building in public is a pretty simple strategy, so in this video I'll break it down to 5 essential steps. I won't guarantee this will get you interviews but it'll definitely help more than doing nothing.

    I hope this strategy helps all of you out and I'll probably start doing this myself (I regret not doing it earlier). It's a tough market right now, so keep your head up and keep grinding.

    great video, but it's sad that the job market has to force everyone to have a side hustle. As a working developer I derive all my satisfaction as a developer from the coding process. If someone is a lumberjack they should be able to make a living just from the process of cutting wood and refining it, not have to be forced by the job market to be a lumberjack influencer.

      @@prateekpanta6983Hi! I've also recently started learning web dev, I'm a civil engineer that wants to transition into tech.
      What I did was to document my learning everyday be it small or big doesn't matter as long as it helps me to develop a habit of publishing in public.
      So when the time comes that I become a developer and finally able to build things, I'll be able to do it in public with ease. I hope that helped!

    One crucial aspect this video might not have covered extensively (and can be easy to overlook) is the importance of accurate information. I think for new grads it's more important to have a portfolio of a project or two, something you can comfortably present before the interview and talk about. Having been in the position to hire people for teams, I'm looking for people that are curious and easy to get along with. I'm not super focused on specific technical skills. I know everyone isn't like that, especially hiring managers who don't work in a technical position, they're looking for keywords because they don't have detailed knowledge of what it is you're actually doing... but honestly, if you've built something small in a language or tried out some tech, add it to your CV. Just be honest during the technical interview and say that you've only played around with it.

    • @TheCodingSloth
      @TheCodingSloth  2 місяці тому +1

      Try your best to do both, but if you can’t do that then prioritize programming/tech. Once you feel “good enough” then you can focus more on documenting

    Not only we have to solve and build but we also need to document document and teach consistently, which takes a lot of effort. Kinda sad that this is the reality we live in qhere we not only have to technical which in itself takes a lot of effort to practice but we also need to learn to market and sell ourselves, audience building is not easy and not everyone person has the personality to do it. But I guess this is the rrality we live today, for better or for worse, idk.

    • @edboss36
      @edboss36 2 місяці тому +1

      I wouldn’t label yourself as an introvert or extrovert because in reality most people are both, a mix. Only a few people are 100% bubbly and loud or 100% quiet and keep to themselves like a gremlin

    • @Ctrl_Alt_Elite

I know only basic stuff that is available easily on other blogs. should I just post basic stuff like for example i am just a beginner in javaScript? I am just solving mini problems in it. I know Html and CSS more but then learning js and posting about html and css would be difficult. Also, how often should i post? because It's not possible to do it on daily basis. Thanks for the video❤❤.

      The best way to stand out is to create projects based on stuff you find interesting. That's what separates you from others. For example, I'm working on a project right now because it didn't exist when I needed it. This gives me something to talk about.
      That's my advice to you. Keep practicing, but the moment you notice a concept or idea that's been on your mind for a while, or you realize that you need some functionality that doesn't exist, just start researching on how you would make it. Over time, you'll learn more and you'll have a lot more to talk about.
      Also, don't make it a job. Post as much as your schedule comfortably allows you to. I wish you luck.
      Hope this helps.

    • @codingSparrow143
      @codingSparrow143 3 місяці тому

      @@datboi1861 Thanks for the detailed reply❤️😊. So, I should just post about problems for which solutions are hard to find, whether it is a project or any concept that is hard to understand. Right? Before that, I should just focus on practising concepts. Did I understand correctly?

    • @datboi1861
      @datboi1861 3 місяці тому

      @@codingSparrow143 Not hard concepts. Just interesting concepts. Stuff that makes you think, "I wonder how someone would do that." Of course, you won't be able to tackle every single thing that crosses your mind, so don't feel bad if you end up with one or two incomplete projects. Just be happy you started and got somewhere.
      And yes, keep practicing. These projects help with that, too, because you'll be able to apply concepts you've learned to an actual project. That helps more than any tutorial ever will.
      Hopefully, that clears up your confusion.
