Crabbok, it said in the article that you'll use normal templates to move the Huge ships. Thanks for the review! Also for the repaint you did, slap some Nuln Oil or another wash and it'll pop more!
I bought a set because the only acrylic I have is from way early in First Edition, and I was thinking of buying some new ones with the center lines anyway. I am very pleased with them, but they'll look even better when painted. I mostly play Galactic Empire and First Order, so I will be painting these up to represent Stormtroopers. Can't wait!
If they have a red/orange/yellow color changing paint, you could paint the other side of the templates a different color. You’d have a different color just by flipping the template.

Picked up a set on Friday and love ‘em. Great value.
I FINALLY broke down and decided to make the shift to 2.0! Got a Core Set coming, and hopefully by the time we're rolling out to Indy for GenCon, I'll have at least two of the big 3 conversion kits.
That said, I'm on the fence on this set. Sure, the collapsible range ruler is pretty cool and all, but on the same token, I already have range rulers (and soon another one) that work just fine. Eh, we'll see.
That galaxy paint is VERY cool!
A thought about how the range ruler fits together: what about gently sanding down the connecting pegs a little bit. It might make the pegs a little smaller, and make for a looser fit. Just a random thought!
The color shift paint would be so cool for a cloaking stealth ship
Love my Curled Paw Creatives acrylic templates. These FFG templates look too thick and cheap.

If you did it on the white primer it would have showed up a lot better lighter primer with that changing color paint looks a lot better in my opinion

I would too. There are so many awesome third-party acrylics available today. 'Sides, I love my acrylics from Curled Paw Creatives.

I'd love to see you use that paint on the Legion Landspeeder.
The range tools look cheaply made, not very attractive and less functional in every way than cardboard or acrylic versions. The width makes half maneuvers (for crashes) and just generally dealing with them likely to be a huge pain. I'm not sure why they thought this was a good idea. There are so many other ways they could have dealt with premium range tools...

Huge ship expansion and Conversion pack will come with the maneuver template, the preview article some days ago just didn't show it yet...

Yes, and it said a plastic huge ship maneuver tool will be also in the kit and expansion, so there will be something new coming for sure.
I wonder if that's part of why they delayed this set of expansions; they didn't want the Movement Tool to come out before they'd published the preview for the Huge Ships?

The maneuver tool for epic ships is apparently plastic, at least in the ship packs

The depth of these looks too thick. Do they sit right in the base slot?
Did they give you enough for epic range or was it so you could make a range 1, Range 2, and range 3 ruler individually
Problem is the male connector piece makes it hard to use without the endcap

I just picked these up today. I really like the look of just the white primer that you did. Is there anything wrong with just white primer and a wash?
Nothing wrong with that. I will say, after more research, that if you decide to use any type of colorshift paint that you should prime in a glossy black first, as it'll make the effect work better.
@@Crabbok I think I have decided to primer in all black and paint the numbers and arrows white. Keep it cheap and simple.

Nah, because of this paint, it's really glossy when dry, so I couldn't easily paint over it. If I did it again though, I could in theory paint the numbers a different color FIRST - and then see what happens after the top coat.

Acrylics, acrylics, acrylics. No question for me. Sorry not digging the sparkly colour. But each on his own.
Just picked these up and I have to say that putting the range ruler together is immensely difficult. I see no way of putting it together without breaking the connector pieces. Scratch that. Impossible. Anyone else have this issue or am I just really doing it wrong?

Cool but I think my acrylic templates from Etsy look nicer than the gray plastic of these FFG templates...
