Beautiful sight and sound. I still remember seeing XL426 flying when it first came to Southend, and when it was on the airshow circuit for a short time.
Thanks for bringing us that Chris, and a really big thanks to everyone who works so hard to keep her in a running condition. I missed this, which is a shame because I only live a couple of miles up the road.. again, Thanks!!
It was a very good live plane spotting blog today chilling out and relaxing watching the planes arriving and leaving from London southend airport SD tv
The Vulcan is such a glorious and graceful plane and is an example of great British engineering. This, and the Lancaster, are the greatest bombers ever made.
Just brilliant, can you imagine the noise when a more that one Vulcan was taking to the skies in the 60s? an unbelievable aeroplane. What a difference on the aircraft stands today after all the excitement on Friday 6th September. Great show as always Chris.
I missed the actual show, but just watched playback, brilliant stream, SDTV! I like the way they look after her so carefully, the mid point visual check was proof of that. Thank you!
As a young child living in Cyprus , back in the mid 60’s…I often would see these Vulcans screaming out of RAF Akrotiri, as I played on the Sandy beach at Ladies Mile…..happy times….
Thank you for taking the time to record and post this. I seem to remember going to Southend in the late 80's early 90's and there being 2 possibly 3 Vulcans there?.
Being a Kiwi I remember and event similar to the Boeing failure at the ISS,. We had a similar event when the crew of RAF No. 617 Sqn Vulcan XH498 came for couple of days and finished up staying around 6 months after clipping the end of the Wellington Airport and then crash landing at Ohakea.
They wear out. You'd probably have to make a new one, like Peppercorn-class 60163 Tornado! It is a bit of an emotional reminder how awesome we used to be, and how we don't seem to be doing quite the same kind of stuff any more. We took a wrong turn somewhere...
Ah yes the vulcan best cold war bomber ever should be on the uk flag this is the symbol of the uk and the most British plane ever such a shame they stopped flying in 2015
Thank you very much for that it was AWESOME... One of the very few reasons left to be PROUD to be British.
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the coverage
Just love that howl from the engines. Such an iconic plane, lovely to see one still with life in its body.
It’s incredible isn’t it! So nice seeing one alive and well
Brilliant Chris, the most iconic aircraft to ever grace our skies.

I second this statement truly incredible machines
Just brilliant, can you imagine the noise when a more that one Vulcan was taking to the skies in the 60s? an unbelievable aeroplane.

Great show as always Chris.
Was thinking that during the stream, the whole fleet of them lined up making that noise ❤️
Three Vulcans flew over my house and quite low altitude in the early 70s. They flew in a delta formation. The deafening roar was unbelievable.
She needs to be back in the skies ❤
I missed the actual show, but just watched playback, brilliant stream, SDTV! I like the way they look after her so carefully, the mid point visual check was proof of that. Thank you!
They treat her so well! It’s a privilege to see it
beautiful , wonderful to see her come alive again !
Great Sam isn’t it
Hey up, Nice one Chris, what a significant yet so important aircraft in aircraft history and wow so cool to see it up close. Fantastic 😎👌👍😊👋
So lucky to see it from that aspect Paul! Brilliant stuff
As a young child living in Cyprus , back in the mid 60’s…I often would see these Vulcans screaming out of RAF Akrotiri, as I played on the Sandy beach at Ladies Mile…..happy times….
They are some great memories there! I would of loved to have been alive to see sights like that Karl
The Vulcan 'Howl' is just epic! The Vulcan and Victor are my favorite military aircraft.
What amazing aircraft they both are Scotty
Great video thank you! How tempting must it be to takeoff 😊
It looked so close as well didn’t it
I just adore the valcon seeing her again made me cry fantastic
We had the same feeling on the ramp! I’m so humbled you enjoyed it
Thank you for taking the time to record and post this. I seem to remember going to Southend in the late 80's early 90's and there being 2 possibly 3 Vulcans there?.
Our pleasure Fergy! I will ask the question on that as I was only aware of the one which is XL426
Brillent video, probably one of the bests
Thanks so much Andy

lovely aircraft❤❤❤
Glad you liked it Tony
B...dy marvellous
😉 marvellous indeed Lance
Almost picture prefect! Great view taxiing towards the camera. Is that a squadron marking on the tail?
Why why why is this beautiful aircraft not flying in the sky!!! Amazing sound.
It’s such a shame Scott it’s one of the most beautiful sounding and looking aircraft

Amazing! What are the chances of the vulcan ever flying again?
She will never fly again unfortunately Rebecca which is such a shame because she’s in such good condition
Do we know who piloted it
I don’t unfortunately Jeremy and didn’t want to ask incase they didn’t want to be online lol
She wants to fly 🙂
She does
is there a reason why the last two runs have been on 23 ?
It’s because they are closer to the enclosure for the guests of the Vulcan so they use runway 23 and stop in the middle of the runway ✈️✈️✈️
What would happen if the pilot got a bit overexuberant with the throttle?
It would be a great video, but they would probably have the book thrown at them
Ah yes the vulcan best cold war bomber ever should be on the uk flag this is the symbol of the uk and the most British plane ever such a shame they stopped flying in 2015
A great bird with its wings clipped reduced to taxiing for spectators ☹️
If BUFF can be flying today, why was the vulcan not similarly supported and developed.
It’s a shame that it isn’t still supported because the Vulcan is in pristine condition
