Sounds very much like a sârbă dance from Romania, but with inflections reminiscent of a Jewish Cantor.. great dance music when it gets going :)

Im Bosnian we have simular music does feal like this my MT DNA. Is of European Askenazi have mostly exact 90 % matchs with Yiddish people but no one in family is Jewish and have live long time in Bosnia.
Klezmer is actually similar to (and even influenced by) Balkan and Roma music, so your intuition is on target--even if your family is not Jewish.

If you want old-school, there's Naftule Brandwein, the best ever, and Misha Ziganoff. The Barry Sisters, if you want lovely Yiddish lyrics. Barcelona Gipsy Klezmer Orchestra for a contemporary twist. I also like a lesser known group called Arche Noah Klezmer Band.
