I flew to L.A in the early 2000's to meet with an A&R. It didn't go very well. I was told my music wasn't any good and my look wasn't good. Needless to say I was pretty discouraged. I was staying with my sister in Whittier while I was in town. The day before I flew back to 🤘🏽ouston a homie that flew out with me and I walked to the corner store. I remember being all bummed out when out of nowhere a chola driving a black baby Lac came screeching around the corner blasting This Is The Way We Ball. Maaan! It felt like a huge encouragement!!! I flew back to Texas feeling good knowing HTown music was being accepted in California. Shout out Lil' Flip✊🏽
