Hi Chris, thanks for this. I'm thinking of trying out some spotify ads but when I asked them a while ago they said that you can't send people to a particular song because the non-premium spotify users who are being targeted can only play songs on shuffle. So you can send them to a playlist or an album but you have no control over which song is played first (which is obviously not ideal if the ad is promoting a particular song and they don't get to hear it first). How do you get around that?
I would recommend to drop and album or a mixtape and then drop more singles to fill the space, in a few months time, if you keep playlisting, and running ads for a year, you’ll definitely come out with a hit, keypoints pitch your songs for playlists. Spend a little on ads and then along the line. You should recover money spent, because money will be made too when you start getting streams. That’s why a high quality cover, that’s trendy or unique is very important
I just realized that you have to put the videos everywhere and right now then only promote on UA-cam google and Spotify, then the videos will automatically go viral on UA-cam and Spotify later on, pitching your song for playlists is the best compared to ads, then used the money for UA-cam marketing, bear in mind how much yore willing to spend per view
I had recently had some songs blow up on Spotify a little bit, honestly it would be so cool to get that many streams. I lost my job last year and have been doing my music full time right now and following my dreams.
Hey everyone - just wondering if anyone has an Ad preference? Facebook, insta, or Spotfiy ads? Do you have strategies for other social media such as FB, instagram or youtube? or is spotify the one you want to focus on, as in FB is kind of useless now for promoting bands
Wondering, can you split test with one budget and do two ad sets, one video & one audio for this? Kind of like Facebook ads and spread out that budge to see what works.
How do you add the call to action? Is there an option to upload a call to action file that will over lay on the track, or do you upload a special track just to use for the ad? I don’t have anything to promote, but I watched the video and that was a question I had lol
I reckon you'd add that to the audiofile. Just add a voiceover of you asking people to click, with the vibe of the music you're promoting. If you're promoting a lofi song, don't yell. If you're promoting a hype Phonk song maybe don't calmly ask them to click and relax!
I followed all these steps but spotify rejected my ad and said " Reason Audio ad contains only music. Recommendation Submit a new ad with a clear voiceover that explains what's being advertised." So im really confused of how you are supposed to promote a song with a voiceover on top of the audio??

Since you are confident enough in your remix to the point your even promoting it to their audience, giving the chance for one them them or someone on their team, label, lawyers... hearing it much higher, you must know something I dont know. What gives you that confidence? Have you already gotten it approved by them or their publishing house or label or whoever owns the rights to the original and have something like a 50/50 split royalties contract signed by all parties? Or some other agreement with the original songs rights holders since doesnt spotify submit all numbers to ascap, bmi and sesac? The big artists and labels often dont wanna support artists when they are smaller so I've found it difficult to get big labels and artist to take my remixes serious yet, so just wanna put it out there for free for my audience that keeps asking for me to release them....but due to spotify's work with ascap, bmi and sesac I dont know if I can legally release them to a distro service like distrokid/cdbaby/symphonic. Yes you can run ads for an artists with less than 8 songs. Impressions is how many times your ad is shown. Reach is the number of people that heard it. So Spotify can show your ad 10 times, but it's possible only 5 people heard it. In that case, the 5 people would have heard it 2x each.
