Millyard is an absolute genius and one of the finest engineers I have ever seen especially on motorcycles Millyard has some of the most wicked tricked out 1off bikes in the world. I just don't understand why he doesn't have his own line of motorcycles in dealerships. Millyard has motorcycles all over the world in museums with his crazy engine modifications like turning a 4 cyl into a v8 or v12 and doing it so perfect that they look like the factory turned them out. The Flying Millyard in this video he used the heads and barrels from an airplane and he fabricated the rest himself how amazing is that. I am a big fan of his work as so many others are however if it wasn't for UA-cam I don't think I would know who he is and that's a damn shame he should be well known to more than just the hard core enthusiasts or the lone UA-cam stalker that stumbles across his work much like myself. IDK maybe he has more going on then I know like I said I am just a YT stalker lol. One amazing man he is for sure!!Millyard is an absolute genius and one of the finest engineers I have ever seen especially on motorcycles Millyard has some of the most wicked tricked out 1off bikes in the world. I am not saying that any of these other bikes or their builders are not equally amazing I just know much more about Millyard's work then the others although I do think that Dennis Franz motorcycle was incredible and sounds great. I believe I have watched a YT video of this bike and he milled and turned all the parts for that little engine himself that's talent right there! All these bikes are great and I love to see the world turn with these back yard engineers showing the word you don't have to be a giant factory with million dollar tools to turn out a machine that can take on the big boys.
What people may not realise, this man doesn’t just swap engines, or just buy them. He makes them by hand in a garden shed ! These engines are made by him. He’s a genuine genius. Such beautiful machines. One of a kind.
The Franz Flyer has approval ratings high enough to go straight to full mass production. A few different engine sizes- 350, 650, 1000cc. Retro and modern frames. And I'd want one of each!
In '67, Honda put out a 250cc/6 that ate up everything at Laconia, then was never heard from again. We were talking thimble-sized pistons, there. I can only imagine the size of the pistons in the Franz Flyer. Undoubtedly the coolest thing I've ever seen on two wheels. To think that this guy engineered and fabricated the engine and configured the drivetrain and frame is simply astounding.
That Franz Flyer is beautifull, sounds very smooth and as a V8 should sound, and is the only bike in this video that doesn't kill you when it falls over on you. And it's engine is a complete self build without using components from existing engines, all others used at least cylinder blocks and pistons from other engines.
Not only is Allen a rare genius, its bizzare when he just gets a bog standard hacksaw to start cutting engines in half in his garden shed... the end results look like they came straight from a kawasaki factory. Absolute perfectionism.
Don't listen to those who tell you to miss the start of this video, the first bike, the Flying Millyard is absolutely sublime. FFS, a 5 litre V twin with a KICKSTART! I could listen to that tick over all day :)
Nope, not a typo. The Millyard engine is a 5 litre V Twin engine based on two Pratt & Whitney R1340 aircraft cylinders cut down from the radial engine. Do you think I would have made my comment because someone put a kickstart on a 500cc engine? Nuts. Mate, I've been riding bikes for 45 years and I'm a technical writer and editor, stop insisting you are right when you're clearly wrong. You could have worked out the facts for yourself with a simple web search.
The Franz Flyer engine is just amazing, the sound is like beautiful music . The Kawasaki Z 2300 i would like to own, i had a Z 1300 before . But all are absolut fantastic creations.
I would be kind of worried that the motor doesn't even get warm. That means the oil is not viscous enough to soak into the porous metals in the cylinder walls and rings. The oil has to get hot to protect the engine... correct me if wrong, but that's why you don't rev a cold engine... right?
Kind of. Cold oil doesn't help but you don't rev cold engines to prevent "cold seizure". This is a particular problem on close tolerance racing engines. The piston can heat up faster than the bore and due to the close tolerance fit, it seizes in the bore. Honda RC30s had a reputation for this although I never actually saw one do it. Nevertheless I always allowed mine to tick over until the water temperature reached at least 80C.
Been a mechanic and racer my whole life but seeing stuff like this makes me feel unaccomplised and well, stupid these guys are on a whole different level .fantastic machines but I like the cbx and the little v8 best.sweetest sound ever from both
All these machines are all made by brilliant engineers with there own unique way to build their own Unique engines and bikes, my favourite has to be Allen Milliard as his UA-cam channel show him create an engine with a hacksaw by cutting an 4 cyl engine block up and welding back together a V8 and a straight bar and drill to mill big end bearings the man is a genius. And to top it off it looks factory made. All this from a small shed in the U.K. 🇬🇧
Franz Flyer. He needs to speak with Honda / Suzuki / Kawasaki. They have had it wrong all these years. The sound of any motorbike can result in good sales. Needs better brakes, on the bikes bigger than 392cc!! Franz gets my vote.
No "Britten" the Ducati beating super bike made by John Britten that was hand made, frame/fairings and engine forged in a pottery kiln in the South Island of New Zealand?
The quote of him forging the engine in the kiln is a common misconception. The engine was cast by a local foundry to John's and Hans Weekets designs. John was using Kirsteen's pottery kiln to heat treat the crankcase.
Magnifique machine.
Flying Millyard...wow! Franz Flyer...a V-8 that sounds like a V-8 even tho it is small...The Millyard looked like part of an engine from an airplane of yesteryear...all of them are feats of engineering...lots of hard work and ingenuity.
Did I just see a Ferrari engine in a bic ! ,WOW CRAZY. The last bic the old man was riding around the car park a work of art nothing less, actually they're all works of art ! .
Andreas also made a Ferrari 308 engine powered motorcycle. He brought it to our CBX bike rally one year in Morro Bay, Calif. It was a 3 liter V-8 with dual overhead cams.
The smoothness of a V12 never cesses to amaze me, no shacking whatsoever starting, or idling or reeving. Playing with engine configurations I've to to wish the answer to every problem would be a V12, unfortunately packaging issues exist.
7:44 That bike runs/sounds like a car engine ........very smooth and soft. Not really looking for that kind of sound in/on a Bike......lol ;-) [with all respect for the owner of course it's a good looking bike]

allen millyard is by far the greatest engineer you will ever see an so down to earth
Entièrement d'accord le Tesla de la mécanique un vrai génie et je suis modeste
What people may not realise, this man doesn’t just swap engines, or just buy them.
He makes them by hand in a garden shed !
These engines are made by him.
He’s a genuine genius.
Such beautiful machines. One of a kind.
I vote for the Franz Flyer. Not something ridiculously over-powered or overly complicated. And that V8 sound is just mind-bending.
agree! i actually want that bike xD
YES !!! that sound makes me HI. BEAUTIFUL SOUND,, BEAUTIFUL !!!!
Yep, me too.
Sounds like a big bore American V8 at a fraction the size
Looks like only a drum brake on the rear hub, but yeah what a sound!.......
m
All wonderful, but my favourite is the Franz Flyer.
John Britten from NZ built the Britten. Kicked butt on the race track. Look that up.
Der Franz ist der beste!!!👍
The Franz Flyer has approval ratings high enough to go straight to full mass production. A few different engine sizes- 350, 650, 1000cc. Retro and modern frames. And I'd want one of each!
Yea, but maybe add some brakes to the front wheel?
In '67, Honda put out a 250cc/6 that ate up everything at Laconia, then was never heard from again. We were talking thimble-sized pistons, there. I can only imagine the size of the pistons in the Franz Flyer. Undoubtedly the coolest thing I've ever seen on two wheels. To think that this guy engineered and fabricated the engine and configured the drivetrain and frame is simply astounding.
That Franz Flyer is possibly the best sounding motorcycle engine I have ever heard.
The Franz Flyer V8 392cc was my absolute favourite! - so small engine, - and what a LOVELY sound!! thanks!
yes! very clean build and love the sound :-) so small engine package for 392cc
Beautiful bike. Is the transmission self built or perhaps from a Moto Guzzi V35/50 or something similar ?.
Early BMW kick starter transmission. It sounds amazing.
We all know the Chevy Big Block. This is a Sweet Block =D

The Franz flyer's got my vote. A mini V-8.
I'd love to have a Franz Flyer mini-v8 in a 750-800cc version with a bigger gas tank and bags :)
Awesome shaft drive too!
That little V8, what a sound!
How sweet is that last one, "the little V8"
Klare Sache, der Franz Flyer sticht sie alle aus! Fahrbar, schön gebaut, geiler Sound, Kickstarter - was will man mehr
Yes...Franz Flyer did indeed sound perfect! What a gem...
That Franz Flyer is beautifull, sounds very smooth and as a V8 should sound, and is the only bike in this video that doesn't kill you when it falls over on you.
And it's engine is a complete self build without using components from existing engines, all others used at least cylinder blocks and pistons from other engines.
Allen Millyard ist very, very Best!
You'd swear it was a car coming down the street. Sweet sounding V8
I love the Millyard Viper V10. I would ride that bike everyday. Allen Millyard is the greatest custom engine/ bike builder of all time.
The Franz Flyer really sounded mean. Nice simple design that any motorcycle fan can appreciate.
Allen Milyard is a legend.
V12 is an absolute work of art, little v8 is stunning
Not only is Allen a rare genius, its bizzare when he just gets a bog standard hacksaw to start cutting engines in half in his garden shed... the end results look like they came straight from a kawasaki factory. Absolute perfectionism.
Don't listen to those who tell you to miss the start of this video, the first bike, the Flying Millyard is absolutely sublime. FFS, a 5 litre V twin with a KICKSTART! I could listen to that tick over all day :)
no shit ............mechanical music............and how about that little V8 at the end .........all very cool though.................wb
Not a 5 liter, a .5 liter (500cc)
Michael W. Take another look Michael, it's 4894cc rounded up to 5,000cc aka 5 litre.
aussie sam Its got to be a typo, nobody kicks over a 5 litre v-twin! It would break his leg if it ever back kicked!
Nope, not a typo. The Millyard engine is a 5 litre V Twin engine based on two Pratt & Whitney R1340 aircraft cylinders cut down from the radial engine. Do you think I would have made my comment because someone put a kickstart on a 500cc engine? Nuts.

The Flying Millyard is probably more reliable than a Harley, it even sounds better. :)
my fave; Franz Flyer; delightful little machine
Glad you boosted Allen Millyard, he's the king of bike builders, IMO.
The Franz flyer is pretty cool, great note too.
Lot of beautiful bikes, but that Andreas V12 really takes the cake! BEAUTIFUL!!
Absolute gems !! All of them.
Awesome engineering work these guys have done!
Imo,,, the last one is the best,,, sounds awesome
That Viper bike is INSANE.
I would hate to drop it. There is NO picking that up.
With that kind of ground clearance I'm not sure it actually can fall over
Procyon lotor Allen says that if you rev the engine to hard while stationary it would tip the bike over
The Franz Flyer engine is just amazing, the sound is like beautiful music . The Kawasaki Z 2300 i would like to own, i had a Z 1300 before . But all are absolut fantastic creations.
There is a lot of talent out there. All were exceptional. Very good video.
I would be kind of worried that the motor doesn't even get warm. That means the oil is not viscous enough to soak into the porous metals in the cylinder walls and rings. The oil has to get hot to protect the engine... correct me if wrong, but that's why you don't rev a cold engine... right?

That v12 Honda CBX is awesome.
Wow! These bikes are out of this world. Absolutely amazing.
Impressive engineering on all of the bikes amazing
All these machines are all made by brilliant engineers with there own unique way to build their own Unique engines and bikes, my favourite has to be Allen Milliard as his UA-cam channel show him create an engine with a hacksaw by cutting an 4 cyl engine block up and welding back together a V8 and a straight bar and drill to mill big end bearings the man is a genius. I like the last one best. Not just a lot of engine, but a sweet retro look and very nice sound.
I'm not keen on V8s, but the little V8 at the end is my favourite of these. I just wish it had a front brake!
Franz Flyer , ! Totally adorable. 10 stars from me. Wish I could see more of the bike .
Franz Flyer. He needs to speak with Honda / Suzuki / Kawasaki. They have had it wrong all these years. The sound of any motorbike can result in good sales. Needs better brakes, on the bikes bigger than 392cc!! Franz gets my vote.
Franz Flyer for me, baby!!! That engine sounds like an old Ford 8 banger!!! Nice work, Dennis!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Franz Flyer is the winner! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Franz Flyer , all the way . That bike is mint ! Awesome sound!
Andreas did a fantastic job on that Twin CBX...!! Where in California is this???
Mr. GTO Looks like La Jolla
@@kellymahoney3847 good guess
Wow! I didn't know Allen Millyard did a V-12 Kawasaki. Excellent!
Most complicated bike there

NO WORDS FANTASTIC MOTORCYCLES
The Flying Millyard was not a motor cycle! But a piece of art...

My favourite & the one I'd personally like to own was the last one, the V8 :-)
love it.......their are some clever people out there
Great video,great bikes.
That tiny V8 in that chassis. It feels right, it looks right and most of all, it sounds right. Not like these other motorcycles on steroids.
Totally agree! Looks really classic and sounds soooo great! :)
I think a NASCAR and Le Mans powered motor tricycles are a great suggestion I came up with. There is nothing wrong with them.
The Franz Flyer is my favorite the sound is wicked 😍👏
my guy kick starting that whip at the start is fearless
Alf Don’t you fancy kicking over a 5 litre twin 😳😳😳
@@chrissanders1027 hahahaa
Unbelievable engineering, but all I can think about is all the time spent on them you could be out actually riding a motorbike.
やってみたい事をやってみる!!

alan millyard, what a man.
I know but I cringed at the rear tyre of the big blue zed :)
A V8 in a bicycle frame. The engine note is beautiful.
Flying Millyard...wow! Franz Flyer...a V-8 that sounds like a V-8 even tho it is small...The Millyard looked like part of an engine from an airplane of yesteryear...all of them are feats of engineering...lots of hard work and ingenuity.
I believe it is 2 cylinders cut off a radial aircraft engine
Imagine being able to take that Franz Flyer out for a ride down lovely country roads on a nice hot summers day... imagine the sound!
Frank flyer for me, even though I wanted all of these!
same here
That V12 looks to be 2 CBX engines. Not sure. All display a Helluva lot of creative thinking and machining/building skills....
The bike at the end sound the coolest!
Britten V1000 should be on this list
Did I just see a Ferrari engine in a bic ! ,WOW CRAZY. The last bic the old man was riding around the car park a work of art nothing less, actually they're all works of art ! .
Franz Flyer hands down......!!!❤️👍👍
I would definitely buy the V12 kawasaki and V10,they pure art
Awesome!!! Why so many dislikes???
I want the tiny V8 Franz! How much???
Can you make it in Black 😀
The Franz Flyer is just about the coolest thing. I would buy one and ride it down to Quaker Steak n Lube bike night all summer long.....
And I would drink beer and listen to you do it with a huge sloppy grin on me dial.
do you have to be an engineer or mechanic to build your own bike?! I'd like to build one instead of getting a car but i don't know where to start.
Get a car
TENNSUMITSUMA both!
Millyard V10 Viper : ♻️♻️♻️♻️♻️♻️ si tu accélère trop fort 😂😂😂
Andreas also made a Ferrari 308 engine powered motorcycle. He brought it to our CBX bike rally one year in Morro Bay, Calif. It was a 3 liter V-8 with dual overhead cams.
I love the Franz V8 sound, but I also love the effortless power of the Flying Millyard. Hard to choose if I could have one of them.
The Franz Flyer looks the most like a bike you could live with every day, the others are occasional fair-weather rides.
A millyard what a legend
Only a Brit could build a five litre V Twin and forget to put a starter motor on it. 😎
guys are genius`s
these freekin things are sick. You could never open them up......except with the clutch pulled in
That old dudes bike is fucking sick that's a beast..
Legend has it the man who rode the flying millyard vibrated apart

I like that sound
You missed out probably the greatest home made motorcycle ever, the Britten.
