This and the Raider appeared as Christmas presents to me and my brother back in the day. They both have a roughly similar silhouette and I have to confess that we were both a little underwhelmed. Both were fragile, especially the raider which didn't survive the holidays in one piece! And we be both came to the sudden realisation that having massive glass windows in a tank isn't a great idea!
Ha, I purposefully removed the correctly installed side arms and turned them down as per the box art. Was a bit scary with the old plastic, but warming-up with a hairdryer first; did the trick. Facing the arms down gives the body of the vehicle a better mass, and helps fill-out the empty looking profile of the Razorback. Anyway, love the Razorback's interesting 1970s sci-fi aesthetic. Great review.
I was so happy when my mom bought me this toy. The first time I went outside to play with the Razorback it accidentally fell down the concrete stairs behind my house. One of the plastic pin holding the wheels was broken so as my kid heart. :( True sad story
Great stuff you guys got me going with m beloved Iron Grenadiers again. I just got mine out of its stored box and now commands the battle on my desk thus moving out the Mauler to another spot! Thanks guys for keeping this fun stuff fresh and fun all these years later. BTW mine has a more smoke-tint to the glass on the drivers cockpit and gunners dome. I use the storage compartment for Swords and Uzi's! And just after watching I learned that mine does have the arms on backwards but there is no way to get them off and flipped around. I would not mess with the brittle plastic after this many years but its still a fun one!
the razorback was excellent in concept and shows more of M.A.R.S. forward thinking. my gripe with this design is the bubble turret was a flop. i mean my door would never stay closed and if it did stay, when i rotated the turret it would separate. i never viewed the iron grenadiers as a defensive unit, but man paired with the D.E.A.M.O.N and Dominator they had a good armor corp. this vehicle is mid-tier.
Just a comment on the "does a modern figure fit in it?" segment- you did pick a good choice. It's a taller figure and a bit bulky. The modern era had little overall size standard beyond a rough height, and the actual body sizes are all over the place. Some are taller than the standard 4", even multiple figures of the same character aren't even heights. The original 10 figures from the first 2 box sets often won't sit in vehicles at all because they weren't sculpted to be able to sit, because they had no real plans to make modern figures beyond those sets at the time. Bad offender is the DTC HISS, used for the recent SDCC Soundwave HISS. It comes with a modern Zartan but is unchanged, it even has the large foot pegs on the back. The 25th era Cobra Commander with the original small helmet can sit in it, but the same figure with the later larger helmet will not let the cockpit close. Good case though is the HISS II which will seat modern figures fine, if you exclude the waist clips that attach to the seats.
@formbx257 have you ever heard of the cobra hammerhead with the driver named the dominator? If so I would love to here a review from u about. Thanks and keep up the great work!!

I had this toy as a kid, the ball turret was never easy to move, but it was cool. Man, I hope I still have this one in my box of old Joes.
The Razorback is one of my favorite G.I.Joe/Cobra vehicles visually. It just always looked so cool.

Wow this was one of the very few cobra veichles that I had as a kid! I remember getting it for Xmas. Thanks for the memories. Loved the review

I don't ever recall seeing this in the stores. It is a must have for me.

You do your research. I loved the Destro "gimmick fleet" from the later years. Very different feel. Subscribed after your Condor video.

O.K. this was a great vehicle I used the maggot driver Worm to drive Razor back because the colors matched better and that vehicle was the Havok Mach2
Good job, Kevin!
love the vehicle....but the color ...yea I think Ithis would look good in black
Oh Battle force 2000 at the end.. Those will be interesting reviews.
You and me have almost the same amount of grey now. I have been watching since the early days, back when we both had dark hair :)
Kevin, have you done a review of the GI JOE Raider? (my fave vehicle)
