This was very helpful, now where I’m stuck at is figuring out the best way to add heavy items on my show without charging so much on shipping. I see other sellers sell the same heavy items but there shipping is so much cheaper, so I’m doing something wrong with the shipping profile
Glad I found this video because I can find shipping with Whatnot to be maddening. I mean, Ground Shipping USPS is so much cheaper but when I buy items on Whatnot they are so expensive to ship. And don't get me started on sellers that don't combine shipping or don't know how to ship properly.

Great video! Just a tip. I bought the 18" wide oblong plastic totes with handles from Dollar Tree and when someone buys I put their name on a cardstock that sticks up and I number the items and then toss them in the person's basket. That way after the show everyone's stuff is already sorted into their totes so eliminates the Hassel of trying to find everything in the piles after the show.
Yes that works for some. I can’t do that because I sometimes have 20-30 separate orders and it’s just me running the show. Last night I sold 93 items to 27 people. It’s a great idea if you have help. 💜

I am shipping priority mail flat rate for those items. My show was set up with discounted shipping. I chose flat rate priority mail. That way my customers pay less because I was shipping (small) jewelry. Anything over a pound went in flat rate priority mail packaging. Anything under a pound went ground in a regular box. There are different ways to set up shipping. It all depends on your show. You decide each show when you set it up. But correct you can not ship a ground label in a priority box.

If you do priority flat rate. Anything under a pound will ship ground advantage. If it is over a lb you can ship it flat rate priority mail. You can order flat rate boxes and envelopes from usps for free. Ship to your door. I get the flat rate envelopes, medium and large top loading boxes for my jewelry shows. You can only use the flat rate boxes if you have flat rate shipping rates turned on in your whatnot show. That means at this point in time that buyer max pay $8.35. Rates may change in the future.
Iv fit boxes inside the flat paper one you can . Does it cost any differently? Going from the padded envelope to the small box to large box or is same price ? I used the small box before too . Yes papernone I shipped shoes in them before but they take a lot of tape I saved 80 cents a order using that paper one . If I don’t have to I won’t !
What if we have a a auction item the listing is a 6oz item but say they buy 3 seperate auctions in the same live… I have the max they will spend is $6 so will they bundle these all together for me ? The large box measures about 14 1/8""X12" X3 1/5" something like that. Is it ik to dhip in that sz box since it is flat rate. Also, since u can't type fractions,do I just put the whole number, example 14"X12X3". Thanks so much

You need to have accurate weights during the show for each item you sell. Whatnot automatically bundles multiple purchases and you package items together and then put in dimensions and weight at time of shipment.
So even though you hit priority her items are just 12oz we can change it to ground ? I’m sure it’s lot easier than it looks I’m a posh seller a eBay seller I have lots experience just not with LIVE sales only on TTb

Also, how does it affect the Byers cost if you do change the shipment… do you end up paying any raise in cost? Lastly. Do you put in every single item before your show, I no some do and some don’t. It looked like you did.. I was told that takes to much time but it looked like it may have saved you time in the shipping process
Very informative. I'm going to start my whatnot for auction football and basketball and baseball cards. Yes, I am a little intimated by this. Sports is my passion. So a person wins and auction, let's say auction #22. I put a sticker on the loader for the card labeled #22. So when the auction is done, I assume you pull up by their tag on the screen when it's time to find out what they won. So , the package and shipping, scares me. It's sports cards , so they are light, only if u have 1. How do you determine weight. Do I just use a flat rate envelope? I basically need kitchen english on this one.

All the shipping is discounted by whatnot. You have to consider packaging material so sometimes it’s not perfect. If the person buys one item compared to 5 items. The most a buyer will pay when I did flat rate shipping is $8.35. This was the example from a show I did. I can’t show you a method I did not use. I apologize. If flat rate is not turnedon just make sure your weights are correct for each item (include weight of packaging materials). Whatnot will take care of how much the buyer is charged.

Has anyone figured out how to create a scan sheet on Whatnot? There is some info on it in their help section, but it seems obsolete- it is not working for my on the Microsoft Edge browser.
So when printing the labels... did the seller already pay for the label I created or will I need to pay when going to P.O? Where is my account that shows how much money I have made and can withdrawal from.??
You print label they send you. Payment is received when buyer wins bid. You will receive payment from whatnot once item is delivered in the beginning. Once you have so many transactions (you can look up #) you will then be put on auto payment and not have to wait. Money goes into your whatnot account and you transfer it to bank or PP.
Two questions. Is the shipping cost calculated after the sell and then charged to the buyer when you ship? Does the buyer or the seller pay for shipping?
Right now the buyer pays a max of $8.77 if you have flat rate on. That is any flat rate box. There was just a recent increase. You can get boxes free from usps. Flat rate is for small items.
Do the weights of your item have to be exact? Like I sold something and the label says 7oz but my actual weight is well under? Will the post office accept it?
I'm new to WN and i sold 31 bigger items to one customer and it bundled it all together and the only paid 8.77 shipping. i ended up paying $78 to ship him his items and lost money. What is the best way to ship bigger items like big funkos or action figures so it doesn't bundle every item together? Thanks for the video as well :)
Flat rate is for small items. Just leave on the regular shipping ground or priority. Which ever is best for what you are selling. There are options when you set up show. Whatnot will calculate it based on the weight you put in.

I have flat rate shipping turned on when I do jewelry it is an option under the shipping. If they only order one item they are charged ground shipping and it ships ground. Once they hit $8.35 shipping from multiple purchases their shipping becomes free the rest of the show. This is only if you have flat rate turned on. It’s great for small lightweight items.
I personally am having trouble with setting up shipping they only give you 5 edits a week it always reverts back to 12 x 12 x 12 dimensions even when I change it
I fixed I just saved custom shipping profiles I did find out you can reduce shipping if you go with smaller shipping demotions but it all depends on what your selling thanks 🙏

I honestly do not remember. I set it up a long time ago. I would search youtube. Attach dymo to whatnot or something like that see if anything pops up. Or message whatnot through the help page.
How does it not cost more than $8.35 once over 1lb and goes into a flat rate box? This is confusing. I have avoided flat rate because I thought it would cost way more than the $8.35. I sell live plants, just FYI.
Flat rate boxes are $8.35. That is how WhatNot has it set up at this time. It may change in the future. You just have to make sure your show is set up as a flat rate shipping show.
How do add the photo to the receipts? I’ve watched people take photos as items sell but not sure how you add that to the receipts for the buyers. Can you pls help? Tysvm
Way too much effort when you can just ship a 40 lb box for $10 to Amazon and it literally takes 10 minutes to make a listing. Whatnot is a waste of time

You can’t use the usps bubble mailers it’s priority mail whatnot uses first class mail

If you are selling larger items you do not what to choose flat rate. There is an area to update your shipping preferences for each show.

You have quite a few options. In this example I’m using the flat rate option. If it is less than a pound it ships ground

I enter the exact weight and dimensions when I ship items that are bundled together. I recommend doing that at all times.

Cards are different. I have not sold cards.

Has anyone figured out how to create a scan sheet on Whatnot? There is some info on it in their help section, but it seems obsolete- it is not working for my on the Microsoft Edge browser.
I figured it out. Gotta make the scan sheet from the live order section for that show. And you need to print the scan sheet the same day.
Can you do all this on a phone via app or do you need a computer to do the shipping and manage/view orders.
I use my computer to ship.

So when printing the labels... did the seller already pay for the label I created or will I need to pay when going to P.O? Where is my account that shows how much money I have made and can withdrawal from.??
You print label they send you. Payment is received when buyer wins bid. You will receive payment from whatnot once item is delivered in the beginning. Once you have so many transactions (you can look up #) you will then be put on auto payment and not have to wait. Money goes into your whatnot account and you transfer it to bank or PP.

Two questions. Is the shipping cost calculated after the sell and then charged to the buyer when you ship? Does the buyer or the seller pay for shipping?
Seller pays shipping to whatnot and whatnot sends you the label
If you mess up shipping weights you will pay shipping overages

Hello, new to whatnot.. how much are the flat rate fees for each of the different box sizes, sorry if I missed that part.
Right now the buyer pays a max of $8.77 if you have flat rate on. That is any flat rate box. There was just a recent increase. You can get boxes free from usps. Flat rate is for small items.

Do the weights of your item have to be exact? Like I sold something and the label says 7oz but my actual weight is well under? Will the post office accept it?
I go in and adjust weight and measurements when people bundle.
I'm new to WN and i sold 31 bigger items to one customer and it bundled it all together and the only paid 8.77 shipping. i ended up paying $78 to ship him his items and lost money. What is the best way to ship bigger items like big funkos or action figures so it doesn't bundle every item together?

Flat rate is for small items. Just leave on the regular shipping ground or priority. Which ever is best for what you are selling. There are options when you set up show. Whatnot will calculate it based on the weight you put in.

You can do whatever works best for you. Just need to know who bought what. The video receipt is there for back up.

I ship from a laptop. They just changed the format. So you have to look for the shipping page.
hi...i thought you could not use flat rate for wn? so even if shipping is under 1 lb you still charge buyers the $8...other jewelry orders I have is gound...
I have flat rate shipping turned on when I do jewelry it is an option under the shipping. If they only order one item they are charged ground shipping and it ships ground. Once they hit $8.35 shipping from multiple purchases their shipping becomes free the rest of the show. This is only if you have flat rate turned on. It’s great for small lightweight items.

I personally am having trouble with setting up shipping they only give you 5 edits a week it always reverts back to 12 x 12 x 12 dimensions even when I change it
After you change it make sure to hit save. Contact whatnot support if that does not work.
I fixed I just saved custom shipping profiles I did find out you can reduce shipping if you go with smaller shipping demotions but it all depends on what your selling thanks 🙏
How do I set my account to US Shipping only?
You don’t need to. They send you a label. If for some reason you want to exclude international you will need to contact WhatNot

I honestly do not remember. I set it up a long time ago. I would search youtube. Attach dymo to whatnot or something like that see if anything pops up. Or message whatnot through the help page.

How does it not cost more than $8.35 once over 1lb and goes into a flat rate box? This is confusing. I have avoided flat rate because I thought it would cost way more than the $8.35. I sell live plants, just FYI.
Flat rate boxes are $8.35. That is how WhatNot has it set up at this time. It may change in the future. You just have to make sure your show is set up as a flat rate shipping show.

Good lord, you need to use a computer? Archaic. Should be able to edit shipping labels from a phone or ipad.
I use a computer for everything. I prefer it. There may be other options. Maybe check with whatnot.

Way too much effort when you can just ship a 40 lb box for $10 to Amazon and it literally takes 10 minutes to make a listing. Whatnot is a waste of time
