    History of calendars & timekeeping.
I know bits and pieces, but putting it all together into one video would fill in the gaps and probably be really interesting. I heard we get 60 minutes in an hour and 12/24 hours in a day from Sumeria. That the calendar used to be 10 months with one big intercalary period between December and March back in ancient Roman but then they added two months. So many things we take for granted, like numbering of years, number of months, the concept and length of weeks, etc. are sometimes actually different in other cultures and further back in time. This might be too big for one video, so if you even pick this idea at all a short series is fine.

@@unchartedhistory9752 I commented on it before you wrote this XD.
Also you did the Roman months, what about the months of other cultures, what about days, hours, years, whatever the Mayans were doing.

if you know anything about the emperor gingerbread incident you would have likely read that it was a tragedy because either people told their children to not go there in fear of them getting trampled, or that there were too many people and too few gingerbread and some people got into a stampede, idk which it was but i remember that it was a sad failure bc of one of the 2 scenarios.

You have a channel about only Egypt? Can we get a link?

Of course, thanks for your interest! I also cover recent archaeology news ua-cam.com/channels/GX1QMBfoq-vYQTr8MUCDqA.html

@@thepharaohnerd7235 Oh! I'm subbed to that one, I thought of it as the "Really Old News" channel. I thought The Pharaoh Nerd was just your UA-cam name instead of using your real name. Cause you cover all of the ancient world on that channel - which is a good thing - not just Egypt.

Is Exmas the Newspeak name for something else? It would be great if you gave a hint about the holiday that dare not speak its name, for anyone who might want historical context. Of course, you'd want to include a trigger warning. It's important to be careful with words that make people feel unsafe.

Could you do a video about San Marino or the tomb of Alexander The Great?

I'm afraid I probably wouldn't be able to do Alexander the Great justice given how much he accomplished, but I was planning on releasing a series of videos on the histories of obscure countries here so I'd be very keen to cover it!

You did a very nice overview of the history of gingerbread and gingerbread men and houses. However you made a huge error a number of times through the video by calling Christmas, X-mas. Very disappointing!!!!

GINGER WAS NOT EXPENSIVE NOR HARD TO FIND IN MEDIEVAL EUROPE ! IT WAS THE CHEAPEST EASILY ACCESABLE SPICE! WHICH IS WHY IN MEDIEVAL RECEIPYS THE POORER THE PEOPLE SUPPOSEDLY MAKING IT; THE MORE GINGER IS USED COMPARED WITH OTHER SPICES BECAUSE COMPARED TO THEM GINGER WAS DIRT DIRT CHEAP! IT WAS GROWN BASICLY EVERYWHERE ONE COULD GROW IT!
why do you fail at basic shit?
