If not calculated correctly it could surprise you. What happens is that the current taxes on a property is based on just land so you have to consider the new value with the home then adjust for homesteading the property. Give yourself a bit of a cushion for your fist year budget then its smooth sailing. When homebuyers underestimate or if their realtor doesn’t guide them it could surprise them yes

They don’t build with bricks anymore? Chicago has very good solid structures building all over the city. It’s kind homogenous. From the building structures, you cannot tell which neighborhood is poor.
American homes are terrible…. Why would i want an office when i work at an office everyday ? Why would i want a Mother Inlaw Suite ? No Pavement out front, Where is the fences for side boarders outside to define your land ( Lot ). Why is the Kitchen part of the living area and dining area, The room will stink of cooking for hours, Kitchen should be closed off, Master Bedroom with a sitting room Why ? . What a waste of space, Closet Space is way too big Why ? Again a waste of space. You dont need it that big, Loft space again designed the wrong way tiny bedroom with living space . Why ? Just use the living space as the Bedroom and the small room as the on suite simple… That 1st house was awful.

I would loosely call it Tampa. It's 30+ minutes to get to Tampa without traffic from Apollo Beach area. Could take an hour during rush hour.
I always say its Tampas suburbs. Nothing hidden there.
