    Thanks for sharing the leaf hopper remedy! I'm having the same problem along with spider mites and didn't know what to use.

    • @gardenflorida

      Yeah absolutley! the leaf hoppers ive been battling for many months now. Im glad I finally was recommend something that works! You just have to be careful because although it does kill the leafhoppers it also will kill the good guys like butterflies so make sure to spray in the early morning or evening when nothing that pollinates is active. On Amazon, Pyganic cost about 30$ (Link in description).

    This was a very nice and informative video. I have one sugar apple tree. I check my trees often for bugs. I would like to see you trim your trees.😄😄

    Good to see that you found a better home that will allow you to get the production you want out of your trees. But what happened to the Punta Guarda farm.

    Been waiting for a new video 😃, congrats on the new place, leaving a bunch of trees behind or are you going to transplant them all? Also for better viability try rigging something to shade your mango grafts, the full sun is killing them. Farm update sometime soon?

    • @gardenflorida

      Thanks! I’m gonna move all my plants, only the ones I really enjoy eating I will plant out and give permanent spots but the rest will be potted up to big pots and placed in a sunny area. I will also sell some if I can. Thank you for reminding me to do that - I’ve been trying to get around to that but I will do it this weekend for sure I was planning on getting shade cloth. Also I will have to do a update on my farm soon!

    The leaves of my sugar apple are turning yellow, I had a few small sugar apples and they fell off🙁. Any idea why the leaves might be turning yellow?

    No Cherimoyas? Is that Florida thing?

    • @gardenflorida
      @gardenflorida  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah no cherimoyas in Florida is a Florida thing but it’s for a reason. Annona cherimola or cherimoya is better suited for regions where there is elevation such as mountains with some degree of cold weather. California is perfect for growing cherimoya because it’s very mountainous - on the other hand, Florida is all flat so it does not do well. Also the cherimoya does not like our hot and humid weather and prefers the cooler weather in the mountains. Sugar apple (Annona squamosa) on the other hand grows great in areas of low elevation and heat such as Florida where we grow so many sugar apple - and on the contrary sugar apple hates go grow in elevation and colder regions. Hope that explains why manny of us don’t grow cherimoya simply because it’s a little harder the trees sometimes don’t produce a fruit and stress - it’s better to grow atemoya if you want to get some cherimoya genetics or plant a cherilata which has cherimoya and reticulata genes.
