- Dotted 32nd notes in quintuplet brackets is a crazy concept Tomas likes to use in some of his fills. Let's break it down!

Tomas Haake is the drummer of the Swedish metal band Meshuggah (go Sweden, my people! lol). His drumming and Meshuggah's overall style has pioneered the whole 'Djent' genre/movement, and with good reason. Tomas is one of my personal favorite drummers, and it's always a blast to dive deep into his playing. Hope you'll enjoy this video and learn something from it!

This is a great example of how math and music are intimately related. Great video!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Honestly, what amazes me more is how learned and erudite your literacy in the language of drums is. It would be a wish come true to be able to analyse, decipher, and transcribe music as you do, ma-shaa’ Allah... Goals. Goals.

John Longstreth playing "all things dead" for meinl would be cool to see a video about.
I wish you had slowed it down and set it to a metronome so we could really gain an understanding of how this fits within a groove.
Please, make a drum react of Chris Paprota.
