The AI in gen1 chooses its moves after your input, thats why you kept getting your switches "predicted". It is not generally talked about because most of the enemy trainers in the game don't actually have coverage moves. The creator just updated the movesets and the ai became much more "alive"
The most OP Pokémon is Venusaur, with growth + sleep powder. In gen 1 there's one stat only for both special attack and defense. So, with growth, you buff the both of them at the same tame. And because of the gen 1 sleep mechanic, you can set up until the enemy doesn't wake up, than put him to sleep again and set up even more. In the end, Venusaur become a demon slayer

@@theuncommonsoap loads of back sprites have been renewed. we kept most of the front sprites as they already received updates. Jrose11 explained it well, but in summary: "the front sprites were updated in blue and again in yellow where as the original back sprites in yellow were still from red/green.". It is why we updated nearly all the back sprites to match their front sprite and updated only some of the front sprites we thought were a gross misrepresentation of the mon.
