I really, really like the server structure they're going with. It feels like more of an evolution on the DayZ/Arma3 style survival servers, without the griefers that just destroy your base and helicopter.
I think this is my first time seeing an FPS have fragmentation grenades that actually have a realistic detonation and fragment dispersal, rather than just being a generic explosion with no shrapnel. In fact, the only game I remember seeing it in was the Endless war flash game series from the 2000's
@@pebegou Checked some tarkov grenade physics, seems like Gray Zone does a bit better job at the shrapnel look & physics 10:42 the second grenades shrapnel goes through the wall and falls to the ground. Tarkov definitely has the best grenades of any game I've played. I myself have gotten clipped in the head by grenade shrapnel over 40 meters away and died. Even if you don't die you can literally hear the fragments smacking into all sorts of objects within the vicinity around you. No other game that i've played comes close to Tarkov grenade-wise.
If you watched Stalker's development videos you could see that some of pre-release versions had physical fragmentation with tracer round effects tied to each. Dropped FPS even on devs machines, lel. GP-25 grenade created several dozens of pieces of frag on detonation.
My only worry is the optimization. The dev has only done mobile games, now he is doing a PC game using Unreal Engine 5. I just hope this game isn't just about graphics
Yeah UE5 has nanite even for foliage now. I think it's currently the only engine with this tech, I can't wait until pop-in is a thing of the past in all games.
yeah why i am not playing it. Complete lack of LOD optimization. It even fully loads in 3d models on the hills, why every single card suffers. And the scopes too, they are so lossy.
This is how a C clamp stance works. The gun doesnt have a foregrip of any kind so the person is holding the barrel with his hand and pulling it towards his chest for more stability.

There's a lot of games that hav this system where you load into a world and can walk out of your base and do objectives. What ends up happening is, instead of people camping extracts like in tarkoc, people camp the safezones. As soon as you step out of the safezone you start taking shots. The only big difference here is that this is a Unreal engine showcase basically.

Variable animation frames for non primary art entities.... cool. Starship Troopers did that back in 2005 to try and maintain frame rates with massive amounts of bugs on screen.
the map looks so damn good that if they want to gives us some variety they can simply add different weather or day time, night time to the map and that would be more than enough
Great content and awesome vid. I’m looking forward to the release. On a side note, BigFry mentioned and highlighted the complete opposite with the AI -showing them not entering any buildings and being mostly static.

Maybe it comes as the game takes its final form but given the attention to detail it’s strange to see enemies don’t leave a trail of blood splatter, neither do you or your team. Would be cool to see blood stains on walls and the floor that enemy and rival factions can use to kind of track your whereabouts.
