      It's not in relation to being single or a mom. It's poverty, it's financial insecurity, it's not having an understanding of how credit works because K-12 education doesn't cover it and oftentimes if parents don't have strong financial understanding, they can't pass good practices to their children. And to understand just how easy it is to convince people to give up thousands of dollars in retirement and savings to investment firms, one only needs to watch a few episodes of American Greed. Married people, young people, older people, highly educated people, poorly educated people, very sharp minded people etc would have thousands of dollars in retirement accounts or bank accounts and invest all of it with companies that turned out to be scams in hopes of high returns and years of monthly payments 🤦🏿‍♀️. If financially savvy people can be bilked out of millions, how are we surprised if it happens to people much less financially savvy?

    I'll give a quick rundown on how to "fix credit"
    1. Pay your bills on time. One 30 day late payment instantly destroys credit and takes a long time to fall off your report.
    2. Don't max out credit cards. Keep your debt to credit ratio as low as possible.
    3. Limit the amount of inquiries for new credit lines to strictly necessary loans, mortgages, car loans, etc.
    4. If your credit is poor, look at things you can do to fix it. Pay off old loans. Negotiate with the loaner for a lower payoff price.
    There is no such thing as "credit repair". The only thing that can fix credit is time

    • @mamaj6028
      @mamaj6028 Рік тому

      Check if your state has free credit freeze. I have it in my state. I created an account on each of the credit reporting agencies, froze my credit. Inquiries do not go through! You have to open the freeze, I do it for 24 hours, and it will automatically refreeze in the time frame you chose. Freezing credit means no one can access your credit report and it's amazing how much less junk mail you get ! Companies use bad credit to offer you , get rich quick and/or credit repair etc. The second thing to do is always pay credit accounts over the amount due, even if it's only $5/$10 dollars over. You'll see a difference quicker and will surprise yourself by paying even more over and watching the amount go down ! It's so much nicer having good credit, but it's funny, once you work so hard to fix it, you make better decisions and gauge it with your life !! 😎

You could literally do what they do by just reading a couple of books." I could easily do credit repair, but I don't scam, so I don't want to do it. Here is some credit repair advice for free. Call your creditors and ask to make a deal to pay off debt. If you pay it all off, they might take it off your credit a little faster. Only two things solve bad credit, time, and paying off the debt. I don't care what anybody else says. That is the only legal way to repair credit.
